Man accused of killing child had ‘a lot of problems,’ lawyer says
Ignacio “Jesse” Sanchez was under a great deal of stress and “a cloud of methamphetamine use” when the 2-year-old girl left in his care suffered fatal head injuries in December 2003, his lawyers told an Ada County jury Wednesday.
“This is a troubled man with a lot of problems,” public defender Michael DeAngelo said during opening arguments in the Sanchez capital murder case.
