Right. I’m sure it’s not a “criticism” – that’s why you acted like you went through great pains to research it. My recollection is that it was days before the election. Maybe it was 3 weeks before the election. BFD. What I clearly got wrong was that it was 1992, not 1991. I’ll make that correction.

Did you have anything else to add to this thread, or what was your purpose in posting in it, exactly, outside of trying to make it appear “apocryphal”? If you want to accuse me of lying, why not be up front about it?

I’m far from the sharpest knife in the drawer, but any chance this could have been October 1992? “Days before he’d get elected”, would not mean to me a year later. A quick search for Clinton campaign events in Charlotte for 1991 turns up a late November address to state party leaders and a December 3 event. The same search for 1992 shows an event at Marshall Park uptown on October 12, 1992. I know it’s a long campaign and not all events would necessarily be covered exhaustively. Certainly not saying that the story is apocryphal – memory and dates can be tricky. Keep in mind, Clinton didn’t officially announce until Oct. 1991 and Bush still had 90% approval ratings. IMHO, the somewhat breathless and anticipatory tone of the rally/meeting doesn’t fit with the other remarks and/or timeline. Not a criticism, merely an observation. Cheers!

Bak, there are a few things I can’t abide. One of them is the lies “Feminazis” have to spread to defend dismissing all but support for their “religion”.

Abortion is an abomination.

I did make the racist Patsy Mink confront her racism and pro-abortion rhetoric. She was on C-Span taking phone calls. I called, got through, and asked her to tell my Korean daughter why she should have been aborted. I told Mink that Brenda Sung Mee was staring at Ms. Mink on the TV and wanted to hear the answer. Patsy Mink just glared into the camera until the C-Span host rescued her by ending the segment EARLY.

Who says C-Span is not biased.

Good lord…. this thread originated back in Sept. of last year. Elaine, you must be the queen of pondering before you post.

- I think we may finally have pushed this whole Liberal right to privacy to murder out into the open. Hiding an agenda of evasion of responsibility, and legalized murder behind the curtain of legitimate abortion instances, is about to be totally exposed. Too bad for all the unborns it didn’t happen sooner.

- I wonder sometimes if the left rue all the babies they’ve killed when they fall short at the ballot box. Sounds cynical, but given their coldness toward the helpless infants they seem to think are “easily expendable”, its how I imagine they’d think about that factor, if they ever think about it at all.

- The Costitution does not give you the right to privately murder, for any reason. Even Clinton had it right…

- Over the last 30 or so years, while the country was engaged in other pressing issues the Liberals, fem movements, and others on the extreme left have managed to envagle and manipulate the system to reframe this issue, pushing it into the federal arena. This “big lie” continues unabated in the MSM press. This is a deeply moving, social issue at the highest level, and a voter issue on a state by state basis, and is not, and never should have been adjudicated by the SC…. Roe vs. Wade is an misuse of the Federal system that should never have happened. This is another case of the states evading their resonsibility to the electorate to deal with important issues such as the illegal immigrant/border problem. I 100% agree that abortion is neccessary and should be a matter between a woman and her family and physician. Or as Bill Clinton put it: “Abortion should be legal, safe, and rare”…..

I remember someone once said that our laws regarding abortion would probably change overnight if only the womb were transparent, and people could actually see the process by which an embryo develops into a baby. We don’t want to think about what happens during an abortion, and groups like NARAL don’t want us to know.
