Jim: Heh! Sorry, amigo ... gotta blog about that decent weather while we're having it ;)

AT: Thanks for the recap! Sounds like a good time was had by all and that there was a nice sized group there. More power to 'em!

GBA: I appreciate that. I'll hopefully know more later this week.

It's pushing 110 here...so shush, you. Good luck with the house...I got really lucky in buying mine, but I have lots of friends who went through nightmares...

Oh, I've been meaning to get back to you about the Move America Forward tour, but these last few days...first football game...spirit week...grades...been a swamp! I'll just say right now that there were about 35 cars that came in Wednesday from San Francisco, and they picked up a couple more. There were about 150 people packed into the restaurant where the live broadcast was, and about 150 more outside in the parking lot....which is pretty good for 4:00 in the afternoon. Flags EVERYWHERE. A group called Military Moms 24/7 was there, all with shirts and pictures of their children. I was lucky enough to find a seat inside early and say next to a table full of them. I listened in on their stories, and as much vitriol there was towards Cindy Sheehan...and oh my there was vitriol...there was as much talk of pride and love for their children and the decisions they made. A couple people got up and spoke about their family members, and I gotta say, some of them were ANGRY that some of those Code Pink people are claiming to speak for all the military families.

A couple protestors were there, and one even got on the radio, and as soon as he started into the "Bush Lied" crap the radio host sighed and started taking the argument apart, but of course, the idiot wouldn't listen. You saw in the article I linked to earlier about the one guy who said America is the biggest terrorist, and how he was confronted by a guy whose brother died in Iraq. That particular gentleman was one of the first speakers. Very eloquent.

About 5 is when the caravan rolled in, and after about twenty minutes of camera interviews, Deborah Johns came inside and spoke for about 15 minutes to the radio host and crowd. She was inspirational. I've been really out of touch these last few days, so I don't know if she's made it to Crawford yet, but I'm gonna go find out now.

The most interesting thing, I thought, was the number of elderly people that were there -- easily 1/3 were in their 50's. There's some fear that as the community in AZ ages thing will tilt to the left (still pretty damn red state here), but I'm not convinced of that...

Anyway, off to grade some essays here.

Sure, throw that 76 degree stuff in my face. It's eight degrees hotter than that in the house right now. But it's headin' in the right direction.

Haha! :)

Things went well today ... if all the paperwork goes through as I hope it does (the prequal stuff, etc) I may be a first time homeowner by the end of the month. Yippee!
