It will, of course, cause you to have to increase your skills: every homeowner has to become at least a little bit of a plumber and carpenter and painter, but you'll wind up proud of yourself when you take on a new, daunting task, and get it done. Home Depot (which a friend has referred to as Home Despot) will become more familiar to you than the mall. I've had a twenty-five year old home, a renovated 150 year old home, and now a non-renovated 100 year old Victorian. I get to add electrician to my skill set now! Congratulations (slightly in advance) on becoming a homeowner!
