Curling irons... Haven't heard that. Good one. We went 9 days without power. Went camping last month, 3 days, no shower, no shaving. Just sleep, trout fish, eat. Great... Reminded me of the conditions during Hugo, aftermath. Played board games till I was sick of them. Read a lot, broadened my mind, so to say. It may be days before we know the damage, but I get this feeling, we will all feel this storm. That part of the country has lots of oil, and chemicals. Prices will rock, up, and up.

Me too, Gary! My family was without power for 13 days after Hugo. I worked at a local drug store at the time, and I remember several women who came in to purchase butane curling irons so they could do their hair even without power. A few of 'em tried to return the curling irons once their power came back on. LOL!

I remember HUGO, all to well. I feel for those in the path. We are all at the mercy of Mother Nature. I think sometimes, she just likes to remind us............

The eye is over NOLA right now, and when the winds shift as the eye moves over we'll know if Ponchatrain is gonna overflow the levees and fill up large parts of the city.
