Evon – I watched the CSPAN taping this morning (I set my VCR to tape it before I left to go out last night). Hitch had Galloway on the defensive the whole time. It was great! Galloway is complete embarassment to his country (kind of like Michael Moore is to our country) and types like Moore and Galloway shouldn’t be taken seriously – but sadly they are.

- For anyone that may be unaware of Hitchins past, He was a left of center Liberal before He found out what a wonderful brain He has, and what wonderous things He could do with it, once He discovered independent thought.

The left hates Him with their usual mindless sheeplike passion, because He knows each and every one of their bag of tricks. He can peel back more layers of hypocritical Liberal yammering in one sentence than most pundits can accomplish in a hour of bloviating.

Galloway is a moron opportunist and media whore, who’s main claim to fame is spewing the most insane inflamatory statements, with no factual basis or real point of view. As would be expected it was an intellectual slaughter on Hitchins part.

Since Galloway is an idiot, he probably went away just happy for the “face” time.

[...] Okay, sorry for that quick exit…I foolishly committed to liveblogging without eating supper, so I was HUNGRY! Here’s the bottom line: Hitchens laid out the case for Iraq in terms of a commitment to democracy and freedom and a stance against the jihadists and their theocratic dreams. Galloway…well, Galloway engaged in a lot of ad hominem attacks, dwelt overly long on the past statements of Hitchens, and never really answered the charges that he hobnobs with (and takes money from) dictators, because, of course, he can’t answer the charges. Galloway clearly showed himself to be an anti-Semite, anti-American, and a traitor to his own country, and if you think that’s too strong, wait until the transcript comes out (I’ll link to one when I find one), or better still, watch the debate yourself on C-Span 2 on Saturday. Hitchens clearly won the debate against the much-vaunted Galloway, despite having to overcome a partisan crowd.
