Our leadership is not quite that incompetent. While there may be major structural damage, the loss of life will not be anywhere to the scale of Katrina in New Orleans. I'm in Central Texas, so we might get some wind and rain, but already we have our hotel rooms full of people evacuating the coastal areas. Maybe if we could get President Bush, Gov. Perry and Pat Robertson to stand on the coastline with their hands raised, the storm will die or turn around back in to the gulf. After all, hurricanes are the (republican) president's fault. The special weather statement said that Rita was expected to become a CAT 4 by the time it hits the coast. We are to expect tropical storm force winds in Austin, which is <strong>217</strong> miles inland! Time to stock up on ice and BBQ supplies! I'll try to send you some pictures! :mrgreen: Hey Sister!

Then He failed to use the transportation available for the emergency plan that he and Blanco failed to implement. Then he promised safety to people at the SuperDuperDome, which turned out to be an inch short of a death trap. then He went before the micophones and blamed NEMA, The Red Cross, The Police Commissioner, The Governor, The Congress, The President, Racism, and Mickey Mouse. Then he decides to invite people back in the city with a disasterous "early return" plan, even as another potentially devastating storm was forming up in the Florida keys.
