Looking up Garinger pictures and found this one. Dwight Clark graduated before me, I think he was there the year of my cousin. I was in the class with Jeff. Dwight had all the records for track and field up in the cafeteria. Anyway, back to looking for pics of my old high school!

The Colts have definitely improved. Edge is running about as well as I can recall him ever running, and the defense has stepped up big-time. As a result, Manning hasn't had to air the ball out as much, leading to some rather pedestrian stats, but so far he's led his team to a perfect record.

Personally, I thought the bigget travesty of the weekend was when the Saints met the Rams and got screwed on a bad call late in the game. Cam Cleeland obviously caught the pass, maintained possession, and was down by contact when the Rams defender(Furrey) stripped the ball (the officials called it an interception) and ran it in for a touchdown making it a 2 possession game with under 2 minutes to go. Unfortunately the Saints had no more timeouts for a Coach's challenge, and since the play started before the 2 minute warning, the booth couldn't call for review. You could see the entire Saints team look like someone had gut-punched them. It was simply heart-wrenching.

Brad: You mean there IS a bright side to this season for SF afterall? ;)

Ring: I hope so, too!

Matt: Ya think? I've not been paying much attention to them. What kind of numbers is Peyton putting up this year?

PCD: I saw the last half of that game because our local affiliate here apprently decided that the Cowboys/Redskins game was no longer worth watching. Saw the kick at the end of the game too ... that was a heartbreaker for you guys!

I dhould have worn black today. I missed the game because I worked yesterday. I wish I'd never heard of B. J. Sander. I think the Packers did too.

I wish the Pack had picked up Kevin Stemke. At least he was a local product, and a good punter.

57 yards. Well, Edinger earned it.

Back to sulking.

Why are so many people focusing on what other teams are doing? The Colts are the only team to watch - they'll get the Super Bowl this year!

I've been a 49er fan for more years than I care to admit. I used to go to their games at Kezar Stadium. I've been through the bad, the really bad, the even worse than bad, and the really great times. IMHO, the situation now is quite similar to the situation in 1979 (beginning of Walsh era). I think there is a really solid core to build around. Hopefully, the owners will keep their paws out of the day to day operations and let the coach develop the team.

I've a few friends who still proclaim themselves 49'ers fans.... and they're in pain too....

Oh well, when they were good, they were very, VERY good. And then there is this year... LOL!

Look at the bright side, Barlow is still running good for SF, and they've got... sorry, I'm drawing a blank on what else they have. Memories?

I'm just shocked that Washington put up those kind of numbers. Until today, the 'Skins had been rudderless. Just as the 49'ers seemed to scatter to the winds, the 'Skins seemed to congeal into a formidable offensive force. If Ramsey was still the primary QB in Washington, the game might have been different.

Look at the bright side, Tampa Bay is next week and the Bucs are in a major hurt right now. The only team in worse physical shape than the Bucs is the StL Rams - the one team SF HAS beaten this year.

Peace! And Happy Pig-skinning!

Well finally my "Big Blue" men pulled through for me today. Being a fan of the Giants, Mets, Rangers and Knicks - well, to say the least, I have had my share of heartache.

David: Unfortunately I don't see things changing on that front, either :(

Carol: LOL! I take it you're a Dallas fan? :) A little known factoid about me was that before we moved here to Charlotte in 1980, I was a Dallas Cowboys fan. I loved Roger Staubach and Tony Dorsett and Tom Landry. My father raised me to like the Cowboys (and the Braves in baseball). We moved here and I became interested in the fact that a 'hometown hero' (Dwight Clark) played for the 9ers and I've been a fan ever since.

Dana: I've heard all about the OR's woes ... one of my friends is a huge Raiders fan and relays his disappointment every week. I root for 'em, for his sake, but maybe I should stop - then they'd start winning ;)

Brian: Wow - that's cool you've got that game on tape. That was THE game, as far as I'm concerned. I hope you're right on them returning to their glory days sooner rather than later.

GO NINERS!

ST, I actually have that game on tape, and last summer I put it on DVD so I could keep it forever. Montana was always pulling games out like that. The best ever.

It is painful to watch them these days, but I'm sure that soon (the next few years) they'll iron out the kinks and get back to the way they were in the 1980s, when they dominated.

Niners Vs. Redskins: Another Crushing Loss

It's probably a good thing I was trapped all day at work. My Niners got crushed (yet again) by the Washington Redskins, 52-17. Sigh....I need to jump on a new bandwagon. I did hear at work today that they traded Rattay to the Buccaneers. Good move...

You think you've got it rough? I've been an Oakland Raiders fan since the old AFL days (yeah, I know: I'm old!), and we Raiders fans haven't had a lot to cheer about recently.
