There was no crime here outside of possible perjury (and it’s just an indictment, it doesn’t mean he’s guilty yet). There is no threat to national security and no agent was outed. Saying there is demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the issue at hand. It would be best for the Democrats to let this go and move one (if you’ll forgive the expression). Of course, they’re to busy playing gotcha games to understand that.

Bush himself stated on September 30, 2003, that he would “take appropriate action” against “anybody in my administration who leaked classified information.”

“If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration,” Mr. Bush said in response to a question, after declaring, “I don’t know all the facts; I want to know all the facts.”

And btw, Scotty is the WH press secretary, and as such is a direct spokesperson for the WH and the president. When Scott says something, it is common to report is as “the White House has stated…”
