I know there are a lot of issues to discuss, but today is just one of those days where I’m going through what I call “brain fry” – now, I know my detractors would probably say that there’s no brain there to begin with
but seriously, I don’t have it in me at the moment to write any seriously meaningful posts, especially considering all the behind the scenes drama that has unfolded in the last couple of days. That should change this evening when I’m able to go home and unwind and relax. By then I’ll be back to kicking bootie. Heh. For now, some light-hearted posting will do me some good.
So with that in mind, I’m turning the tables: tell me about what is on YOUR mind. Have you had a wacky week, too? Wanna complain about the jerk who cut you off at the red light? Was your steak undercooked at lunch today? Speak to me! ![]()

Things on my mind:
Rogue DA’s like Ronnie Earle and that dork after Limbaugh. Neither of them have a case, yet the MSM treats them like superstars. Both should be disbarred for abusing their offices for political purposes.
Our Do-Nothing Congress. It is time to clean both house of their un-ethical members (Ex. Rep. James McDermott, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Cannon, and Waxman. Ex. Senators Kennedy, Kerry, Durbin, Harkin, Jeffords, Reid, Levin, Schumer, and Clinton.) Also, time to get serious on finding realistic sources of domestic energy and insulating our old housing stock to save energy.
Time to really take care of new and old veterans, not demagogue the issues.
Also, time to consider ways to clean out the bias in the MSM, and provide for harsh penalties for broadcasting false propaganda in the guise of news or “investigative” reports.
That reminds me, I need to do a follow up on the latest goings on with Ronnie Earle. Seems the Plamegate non-scandal has had so much coverage in the newspaper that the Earle stuff has fallen off the map.
Fried is a pretty good way to describe my day, too.
I do have a topic that I would love to discuss–primary reform. My apologies to folks in New Hampshire and Iowa, but by the time the primaries get to Texas, it is almost always a done deal. I know the latest commission has recommended adding 1 or 2 states to the early process, but I would like to see it opened up even more so more people have a say in which party nominees are selected.
The way I see it, the pros would be a more equitable process. The main con is the greater campaign burden on the candidates.
Anyone else interested in this topic?

Good one, WM – hopefully you’ll have some takers on this one.
TGIF!
I’m more interested in eliminating Vote Fraud committed by Democrats in general, and the left in particular. I’ll include the Milwaukee Democrats who slashed tires on vans to keep GOP elderly from voting.
Don’t come with your “everyone does it” BS. Come with facts, like Jackie Currie in Detroit getting stripped of her office for vote fraud. Like the Democrats being actually convicted of vote fraud enabling their Governor candidate to steal the office.
Let’s talk about stopping Democrat activists from going into nursing homes and voting for dementia patients like in Detroit, and even here in Dubuque.
Mike Kilo over at Right Voices will tell you how in the 04 election a poll worker just came over and pulled the lever for a straight Democrat ticket and voted it against his wishes.
Let’s talk about Las Vegas Union Goons who go into the voting booths to intimidate voters.
Yeah, lets talk about other fraud like a candidate claiming to be in a voting jurisdiction, but not owning or renting any domicile, like Tom Harkin did by using his Disabled brother’s P.O. Box as his voting residence while Harkin lived in DC and the Bahamas.
Multiple parties would be actual election reform. Peace
Have been web searching for last week constructing a time line of Plamegate events with related documents and disclosures. Am convinced that there never was a crime that related to the original CIA input to the Justice Dept. Why did Fitzgerald not terminate Plamegate like he did on the earlier Harkin investigation? He never interviewed Harkin and simply closed the nvestigation saying that there was no crime committed. For a prosecuter to keep a fishing nvestigation going for 2 years when he knew at the beginning that he had no case is the real scandal.
Addendum to previous comment
1. corrected email
2. reference to Harkin involves a different case than noted in the earlier post by PDC
This one involved the clandestine taping of Harkin’s Republican campaign rival. There probably was a crime here but was quickly and quietly dumped by Patrick Fitzgerald (wanna be AJ in next Demo administration).
I like thinking about my stupid dog when I’m down. Like, just last week he was eating and apparently forgot to chew, because he started choking and coughing and I thought I was going to have to give my dog the Heimlich maneuver, then mouth-to-mouth. I know most dogs eat like chewing is optional, but I’ve never seen one start to choke like that.
I don’t think he was ever really in danger. You could hear tht he was breathing. I don’t know if I should be worried my first thought wasn’t that my dog might die, but that I’d have to do some fast first-aid. At least I didn’t panic. But sometimes I wonder about that dog.
My other dog is fairly normal, BTW.
My bad streak culminated with the withdrawal of ANWR & spending cuts by REPUBLICANS!
I don’t know what to do. For the first time in my life, I am seriously contemplating not voting for the next two elections. Regardless of which party wins, conservatives lose either way.
Maybe the GOP needs to suffer, we need to suffer, in order to get their arses back in line with party values.
I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the lack of leadership in the Congress, WH, & RNC, especially since they hold the majority in two of our gov’t’s branches.
“Was your steak undercooked at lunch today?”
It’s almost impossible to undercook my steaks. That’s only possible to do if it isn’t cooked.
Seriously, what’s on my mind is that I loved the President’s speech. What’s also on my mind is Howard Dean’s scary press release on the President’s speech. Dean said that “We can no longer stay the course” in Iraq.
Simply shameful. Where did the Democratic Party of Truman, JFK, Scoop Jackson, Hubert Humphrey and FDR disappear to?
I was on TV yesterday. I was baking a turkey using my Great Grandma’s recipe for a local TV show.
It was alot of fun. The hostess also asked me back on live TV, I told her that I would love to. That has been on my mind since Tuesday when they asked me. Talk about wacky!!!!
Wish you could get a copy of that for us to see, Lorica
I just saw on FNC this morning (Saturday) that last night (day 16 of the riots) someone threw two molotov cocktails into a mosque in southern France. Within hours the act was condemned by Chirac and the PM both.
-6 days to initially condemn the riots.
-16 and counting days to condemn the attacks on Synagogues.
-A couple of hours to condemn attack on a mosque.
Hmm…
On a different note, wow Lorica that sounds fun! Grats!
LOL
I am still waiting for my copy of when I was on to show off a chili recipe. That was over a month ago. Thank You one and all. It was alot of fun and I look forward to doing this in the future. – Lorica
