God Bless you for your sacrifice. The more I learn about the Iraqi people the deeper my conviction is that this was absolutely the right thing to do. I have a very dear friend over there right now. She has been there for 1 year now, and the Army has asked her to stay for another year. She loves it there, and although she misses her family here, says that she has gotten to know the Iraqi people and they are such a good and honorable folk.

Back to the topic at hand. I have to wonder 1 thing about this. Did these same people protest when we were at peace. Or will these same people protest once Iraq is a free and open democracy?? It is a shame that these folk want to deny young men and woman the honor of serving their country and what could be a very bright future considering all the benefits the military offers. – Lorica

Anti-war, only anti-bush if he’s pro-war. Which he is, so anti-bush as well. People wanting to help stop people from dying are immoral and unpatriotic? You all want to stop abortion but, once a fetus pops out of mom watch out. You may die in some stupid war somewhere. Some bargin. Peace

I believe that whenever recruiters are harassed it shall be assumed it was with the approval of the administration, and federal funds should be shut off until recruiters are assured unhassesed access, and for one additional year.

Hello all!! I’m a police officer from S.T.’s home state of NC. For the last 13 months I have been working as a contractor in Iraq, retraining Iraqi police. I’ve got 5 more months to go!! Anyway, I can’t tell you how much this site helps!! We get all types of news programs over here and after being bombarded with all the negative press it gets a little depressing! I start to wonder if I’m in the same country that they are showing on TV. Don’t get me wrong, bad things happen over here all the time, but there are so many good things going on, I can’t believe how they have been ignored. Hope I didn’t ramble too much and I just wanted to thank you guys for helping me keep the faith over here!! I think the Iraqi people are going to surprise alot of negative people in the future.

I remember that Seattle was the place where an Al Qaida operative was caught with explosives and plans to blow up the space needle or some such attraction.

Liberals are selfish, self centered, sunshine patriots. They want everything done for them at no cost to them. If the Congress stripped Seattle and San Francisco of all Federal dollars for their anti-military recruiter actions, the libs would change their tune in a hurry.

Sister, if I am not mistaken, you are sounding like the sofer version of Bill O’Reilly:mrgreen: All joking aside though, this quote from you nailed it Yet these same folks who advocate nonsense like this no doubt expect the US military to defend them when there is a threat. You bet they do, and I bet if one of us took the time to review the newspapers in that region for the time period during Katrina, we would see that they complained that the military didn’t react fast enough etc. Great topic!
