Steve, if I were a Democrat, could I be paranoiac and hedonistic? Or are only Republicans of that mold? Also, please let me know the brand crystal ball you gaze into that enables you to determine what any other human being has in his/her heart. By calling anyone “paranoid” or “hedonistic,” might you be treading close to judging others? Or bearing false witness?

Biblical scholars of 50+ years still disagree as to what many lines in the Bible mean. And it has been translated through many languages, where meanings were inevitably altered, that unless you are capable of reading the original texts, your views are based on what someone else believed they were correctly putting down. Therefore, you could be wrong in your interpretations.

As my minister once told me, “A lot of us are going to be very surprised when we get to Heaven. We’re going to see a lot of people there we never expected to see; and we’re not going to see a lot we thought sure would be there.”

Most here want peace as badly as you, but not peace at any price.

I, unfortunately have experienced it.
Fortunately, the murderer had the good grace to shoot himself after killing my sister, so my family did not have to go through the agony of a court hearing.

The question is how do you achieve peace. I know for certain that evil exists and you achieve peace through strength. We will be summarily defeated quickly if we removed all weapons. That isn’t peace, that is death.

It isn’t depressing being a republican recognizing truth. The question is Steve.. does utopia exist for you? If it does then why do you have a problem with Republicans? We are part of your utopia…

If it doesn’t exist for you, do you think utopia is possible here on earth? And recognizing that it doesn’t exist does that mean you have paranoia also?

I’m simply stating over and over again that evil exists and you are required to use force to overcome it but you put your head in the sand and act like it doesn’t exist. Has anything bad ever happened to you or your family? Did you offer that person another person in your family to do bad to?

BTW, Calling us paranoid and hedonists isn’t a good way to debate. It doesn’t pursuade anyone of anything. We can’t even get to the point in our debate steve where you recognize that evil exists.

Rape in Orlando happened many times. Women were armed. Rape declined the next year by 87%. I’d say those women who weren’t raped lived in much more PEACE.

I believe there are evil people and bad people. It is why when law abiding citizens are disarmed (and become defenseless) the city’s murder rate skyrockets. When Orlanda Florida armed and trained 1500 women and publicized that, the next year rape declined 87%. So Steve, are you for rape or are you against it? If you are against it then you’d be for the 1500 women being armed.

If we publicized that our next year’s entire defense budget was going to be spent dismantling all of our weapons, ships, jets, etc you better know as a president or leader that this country would be attacked. National security comes through strength.

Utopia does not and cannot exist. This is why communism doesn’t work. This is kindergarten common sense and understanding Steve. I’m really dissappointed in the logic that you are using. It opens yourself up for the ridicule that you are receiving. It is easy to take the opinion that you hate america and want to see it’s demise because it’s hard for anyone to understand that you’d actually seriously and legitimately hold the opinions that you have that my 9 year old daughter could dismantle.

There are other examples of PEACE through strength of the GOOD people. Kennesaw Georgia made a law that every head of household must obtain a firearm and burglary declined the next year by 88%.

I am personally not worried about how we (the U.S.) looks to terrorists, bad people, evil people, etc. I am personally interested in advancing peace and freedom and the strength of this country’s interests because we are good in general.

A democracy’s interest lies in advancing peace and advancing the standard of living for its people. The people within are interested in these things because they are interested in having a family and seeing their children grow up strong, healthy, knowledgable and prosperous. The larger government is – the more powerful government is – the less say the citizens have – the more you see that nation tend towards not advancing peace and the standard of living of the people. The people become DEPENDANT on the government and that never ending vicious cyle is hard to break.

Iraqi people will be finding this out. They will find out that peace and prosperity does not come by electing mad men like Saddam.

Demanded? Demanded? How do you think we might enforce that “demand?” Oooh! Oooh! I know, we threaten to kill anyone who doesn’t comply!!!

What a simplistic, childish idea. Living in a dream world of utopian delight eh? Try looking at the real world now and then, if you have the guts to. You’ll soon see how useless (at best) and suicidally damaging (at worst) your ideas are.

We are demanding that North Korea disarm and they are not.

Is every president of this country going to hell? (because they’ve in the commander in chief position ordered troops in some fashion to kill).

The problem isn’t God’s law. The problem is your interpretation of God’s law. If a country were to just dismantle all weapons and never raise a hand in defense or preemptive strategic defense… we’d just call ourselves extinct and God’s law doesn’t call for that. God speaks to individuals to not kill. But if confronted with “evil” (do you recognize that exists Steve?) you are allowed to use force to overcome… you don’t simply turn your cheek or offer your wife or another child to evil people. And as a leader the president doesn’t just say oh. ok. take another city to evil people. Evil people do exist. If we say that you must let us coexist (you can’t just have a policy of kill the infidel) then we have a right to defend ourselves and EVERY president has the right to protect this nation.

We can’t wait (the lesson of 9/11) for the terrorist to kill thousands more anymore. We need to help them understand that if you are a terrorist you will not be tolerated.
