“Imperialistic” – that’s a rich irony coming from Europeans! The US has warred with more than 20 countries or regions since 1900 and occupies none of them as a colonial power. We’re the only country that has toppled a regime and encouraged the inhabitants to take over self-government. Anti-imperialist would be a more accurate description.

As for this issue, foreign resentment of contemporary U.S. policies does indeed pre-date the Bush [41] administration; many of my fellow conservatives and Republicans correctly pointed out (and foretold) the damage that the Clinton administration's foreign policy actions did to our image abroad. This analysis from five years ago is one of this critiques. Thank you for making us aware of the Anzar piece.

The greatest weakness that America and Europe face is the refusal to end the use of Hydrocarbons as the worlds main source of energy. So Aznar is as wrong in his analysis of todays challenges as he was about the war in Iraq. Which is why he was booted out of office and is forced to write tripe for a few shekels. Peace
