The main problem with Steve's arguement is that he assumes that both sides are willing to sit down and talk. But who is it that the US is to talk to in the case of AlQaida? They are not state leaders leading this fight.

Your way was tried by the woman steve. She lost her children. Your way is tried numerous times. Your way was tried pre-9/11. Your way was tried by the girl in the Columbine High School pleading for her life. Your way is a guaranteed bloodbath.

Everytime law abiding good people are empowered to protect themselves from evil good triumph over evil much quicker and easier.

Everytime law abiding good people have their hands tied behind their backs they lose – in LARGE numbers. That’s a bloodbath. It’s what you want and I don’t know why you want it Steve.

That is a pretty true Bak. If we used Steve’s solution for WWII, then I would suspect that there would be alot more german speaking Lutheran’s in this country. Of course we will never know for sure, but alot of great and wonderful, Fathers, Brothers, Sons, and quite a few Mothers, Sisters, Daughters, gave their lives so that Steve could drone on and on and on and on about a solution that in all reality could never work.
