NFC Wildcard game: Panthers at the Giants

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on January 8, 2006 at 12:58 pm

My Panthers are taking on the Giants today in Meadowlands Arena at 1PM EDT – the Panthers are 6-1 in their last seven road contests, but the Giants are 7-1 at home this year and are on the look strong thanks, in large part, to running back Tiki Barber and QB Eli Manning, both of whom have been very impressive this year.

Looks to be a good matchup, so I’m biting my newly manicured nails out of nervousness. Go Cats!

PM Update: Panthers win 23-0! Next stop – Chicago, on their turf.

Geez, she likes football too? I guess that just leaves one question; Will you marry me?

  2. Denise says:

Looks like you drew first blood. Good luck! (Go Giants!!!):)>-

    The picture you paint …:x

The Redskins beat the Buccaneers yesterday but I’m almost positive they can’t beat Seattle next week. The Giants are beatable ,the skins just did it a few weeks ago.

  4. Baklava says:

17-0 and the Panthers just intercepted the ball….

Going through and donating 1/2 of the stuffed animals in this house. Kids are having fun with it…

    Same one from ih?

    Hello ST,

    I enjoy reading your blog.

    tis

    Go Panthers!

  6. Think the Panthers will try to punch it in on this 4th and goal?

    I hope so.

    F the Giants.

BTW, are you a hockey fan? Hurricanes vs. Thrashers on Saturday, Jan. 28th.

    Interested….?

Looks like your Panthers embarrassed the G-Men! Yikes! :o

    GO STEELERS!!!!
    :-ss

  8. I saw the game and the Panthers really kicked the Giants butts! I’m a Jets fan myself so seeing the Giants lose so big was pretty pleasing.

  9. Yay Panthers :) Denise, maybe next year.

Watching the Bengals game now …. I hate the Bengals QB got knocked out of the game but the backup is doing a great job. Barb, I bet you are indeed nervous – this has been a good game to watch.

tis – who are you at IH? And Nemo?

EC – I’m more of a minor league hockey fan :)

Bak – doing some winter cleaning?

Grey – glad the Panthers could make ya happy today ;)

Yep. Last week I pruned the roses down. This week I got the grape vine while the kids were playing outside with the neighbor kids. We also chose a bunch of other toys to donate. Took time out for a picnic outside. ..

I keep a Confederate Flag in honor of my Great Grandfather’s military service (Company A, 13th South Carolina Infantry, 1861 – 1863; Port Royal, Seven Days, 2nd Manassas, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg).

It was on hand for the game today, and I’m sure the end left him smiling, wherever he is…

Hope to see them in the `Bowl.

  12. Dana says:

Well, I wanted to see the Giants win, but you just never know which Giants team is going to show up; today it was the bad one. I was pretty sure that the Panthers would win after the first quarter, when it became obvious that the Giants couldn’t stop the run.

I hate that Carson Palmer got hurt, but I was glad to see the Steelers win. I was three for three on my predictions for the weekend; I didn’t pick a winner in the Giants-panthers game for the reason I gave above.

I will say this: the Panthers probably have the best shot at an upset next weekend.

    Evening ST,

I put “tis” to rest at IH. It is still active as far as I know. Shoot me a PM there and I will let you know my new alias.

Capt Nemo is Capt Nemo (if it is one and the same)

Great game today, here is hoping they do the same to the Bears.

Where’s that Giants fan that was “dissing” my Eagles when they were down and out? Hardy-freakin’-HAR!!! :d

^:)^ My beloved Giants got their tails kicked by your Cats. CONGRATS,CONGRATS,CONGRATS!!!! Fair and Square Sister Toldjah. Enjoy the win and all the best against the Bears.

  16. LCVRWC says:

Loved it. I hate all teams from NY with a passion. Also Texas and Pennsylvania, for what it’s worth.

Anyone else notice only wildcard teams won over the weekend?

  17. Baklava says:

Joe Gibbs is 5-0 in wildcard games! Now 17-5 I believe in playoff games….

The skins beat Seattle earlier in the season but I’m not thinking they can do it again.

  18. PCD says:

I think ALL players in the NFL should be mandated to wear knee braces that prevent the type of movement that causes ACL, MCL, etc. ligament tears.

As Vince Lombardi once exclaimed on a famous film clip, “The Knee! The Knee! The Knee! Why is it always the knee?!!”
