Still packin’

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on January 15, 2006 at 11:36 am

Been busy cleaning out old junk and packing this weekend in preparation for my Friday move – it’s a slow process of determining what gets tossed out and what goes with me.

Consider this an open thread to talk about whatever is on your mind :)

Oh – and GO PANTHERS!

Here is how Cheney and Rumsfeld sold bush on invading Iraq. They told him that as long as he provided the troops and the bullets and bombs, they would provide the morale. Halliburton would serve great food, clean the barracks and provide the entertainment. With high morale you could fight one quick war after another, forever. That is not the vision for America that the Left has. Peace

The simply pointed out everything said about Iraq for over a dozen years by Democrats, the media, the United Nations and the intelligence services of every country in the world?

Of course, those who don’t think the world began in 2000 will remember that that’s how Bill Clinton “reduced the size of government” — by cutting down the military and outsourcing services.

No, there will never be a United Soviet States of America.

    On Yahoo News:
    Feinstein Warns Against Alito Filibuster

WASHINGTON – A Democrat who plans to vote against Samuel Alito sided on Sunday with a Republican colleague on the Senate Judiciary Committee in cautioning against a filibuster of the Supreme Court nominee. “I do not see a likelihood of a filibuster,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. “This might be a man I disagree with, but it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be on the court.”

ST- So far we disagree on only one thing. GO BEARS!

48 Iraqi war veterans are running for House seats in places like PA, Ohio and Ill. All of these Democrats have targeted the most conservative Republican districts in those states. It’s begining to look like the election in the fall might just be fun. Peace

  6. Maybe next year, CZ :d

  7. - Bak – I think you’re beginning to see a little common sense coming from some of the more battle wisened Dems with the approach of the 2006 elections. Feinstein knows that a fillibuster is only going to give the Dems another round of bad PR with the general public, and won’t have any real effect on Alito’s nomination. The hearing antics of Kennedy, Biden, Shumer and others was not a elevating moment for the Dems, so theres a lot of fence mending that will need to be done with the electorate back home leading up to the elections. Her comments and position probably signals that change in tempo and direction. She knows its time to abandon the Bush derangement bowl and get serious or a few familiar faces may not be returning to the Congress in the fall.

  9. Sistah – Just a note on the cell phone thread. 3rd engaged in something near the end that I simply cannot accept.

“Yes third…. that is our assumption. I voted the man in office. So yes, I gave the man my trust. Obviously you did not, and so in your opinion we all should watch his every move like a hawk and assume the worst until proven otherwise.”

Thats cutting/glueing/pasting original material to say something different than the Authors original post and intention, material you have the copyright too as site owner. Thats an absolute no-no. I notice that many site owners have gone to a Users Agreement Policy (AUP). I intend to do the same when I restart My site in Feb. Generally speaking I’m really not bothered by the other infantile nonsense that goes on with extremists/trolls/spamers/teenyboopers. But editing of peoples comments, other than redaction of improper, threatening, or fowl language at the blog owners discretion, is unacceptable.

    - On a higher note, I see where the Panthers first string running backs are both sidelined with injuries, leaving Going in the starter role. Is he any good?. Surviving injuries, as you wade through the playoffs, is a huge factor in a teams success. Take it from a long-suffering Charger fan. *chuckle*

I can’t believe how quick this move came up Sister! I am so happy for you!:)

  11. Bang, sorry I didn’t catch 3rd doing that so thanks for pointing it out to my attn – anytime you or anyone else catches someone doing that, please let me know … I can’t catch everything here like I used to be able to, but you’re right: no one should deliberately and/or selectively misquote/ edit the comments of others.
