You’re right Ryan – this will not stop Judge Alito’s confirmation. I think this will only serve to discredit the Democrats on the nominating committee even further. The American people are ready for an answer – these Senators have had months to prepare themselves for the hearings and do any “digging” on Judge Alito. What more do they possibly want at this point? I’m sure they’re hoping for a miracle, but they can’t avoid the fact the Alito is extremely qualified and should be confirmed. Now, its time for these Senators to do something and stop delaying this important process. I think I’m reflecting everyone’s sentiments when I say – “let’s get on with it.”

This delay will not stop Judge Alito’s confirmation. Since they could not muster support for a filibuster of such a highly qualified nominee, this is the only option they were left with.
