Alot of the reason that the meth is made here is due to the extreme openess of the countryside. You could easily get lost in the tens of thousands of miles of gravel roads in Iowa alone, and it is impossible to patrol those roads and so mobile meth labs were created to avoid detection. Which shows alot of the problem with law enforcement, be it meth or terrorists, if law enforcement is looking at it, there is a good possibility the criminally minded have adapted. Meth was made in alot of rural homes out here, but not so much anymore as the police started to patrol those homes more and more, so they went mobile. I believe that the actions by both Iowa and Illinois will virtually stop meth production when they made it illegal to buy sinus medication in vast quantities.
