I saw Peanut-Head in college, when he came to my campus to campaign for his first (and thankfully only successful) run for the presidency. I actually spoke with him a bit when asking a question. I only saw him speak for 20 minutes or so in total, and my firm opinion of him was he was a weak, ineffectual whiner who I wouldn’t trust to walk my dog.

Over 20 years later, and I now know that I overestimated him greatly.

First of all, the election of Hamas will in and of itself will be a declaration of the end of the “oeace process” (as if such a thing existed in the first place).
As to Grinnin Jimmy, this was the genius who thought the current Iranian government is a more humane one than the Shah of Iran was. He was the one who refused to recognize a more moderate interim government than the ayatollah.
He turned on the please love us and don’t hurt us foreign policy that has been the earmark of Deomcrats ever since.

Any group that uses violence as the means to an end (any end) is a terrorist group. Does US foreign policy use violence to accomplish a specific outcome? That’s what is meant by, “One man’s terrorist is anotehr man’s freedom fighter.”. If you kill a guy, there are consequences. Peace

Sure, it starts with Hammas renouncing violence and locking up the crazies with the bomb belts and rockets. Less than that is all out war, the survivor wins. There is NO Arab state willing to be nuked to save the Palestinian’s rear ends. They are disposable proxies, but you can’t see that. You are too eager to give away Israel piece by piece.

I can see the usual US liberal thinking in your post. They will win, so just give in and give Israel to the Arabs. It doesn’t hurt you. I’m surprised steve hasn’t jumped in demanding that Israel be served up to the arabs.

Tommy, Israel could drop fliers on the Palestian State telling them in no uncertain terms that any rocket attacks, any suicide bombers come from the Palestinian state, that area will be reduced to rubble and nothng will be left alive to start another attack.

Hammas can either get reasonable or watch their “state” get destroyed neighborhood by neighborhood until the whole area is a free fire zone.

Don’t kvetch or whine about that, tommy. Hammas has already made Israel a free fire zone. This is paying them back in kind.

Well Dana there is so much bad blood between the two of them it’s easily understandable why groups like Hamas and Hezbollah receive support from the general Palestinian people. What are you suggesting the Israeli’s do? Roll tanks back into Gaza? I’m being serious. If you have an upsurge in violence again you’ll just wind up with more terrorism.As I stated earlier there is no easy answer in resolving this situation.
