The show got so much hoopla I tried to watch it and it was painful. She was a girl growing up in a man’s world, her husband sexually harassed an intern, and she constantly fights conservatives… wait! Am I talking about Hillary or Geena? hmm. Maybe Geena is Hillary in disguise playing Hillary in real life so Hillary in real life can later play Geena in real life and then Geena can be the actress? Huh! Wait!… Now I’m confused! Are there two Hillaries or two Geenas? Somebody make the spinning stop!

Do you think the series on DVD will be out in time of the 2 hour made-for-television movie? I think it’ll make it’s DVD debut in the Wal*mart discount been, then later be used for coasters .

So I watched. I now call the show “Commander of Cheese” because it’s CHEESY! Donald Sutherland so overplayed the “typical hollywood-style” conservative that I could almost hear the bad German accent. I expected him to rub his hands together and say, “Next, ve vill take over za vorld! Muhwa-ha-ha-ha!”

I watch House on FOX. It’s a show about an obnoxious doctor, not an obnoxious show about the most unlikely of political situations.

I talked about fiction. And then you told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Was it fiction or not? Its a simple question.

Corman made an excellent point during “Dinner For Five”. That of his hundreds of films he directed or produced, those with original ideas made money.

Also that of his many, many films, about 80% made money for him or his studio.

Granted, a lot of his films go straight to DVD and cable, but money is saved by not throwing it at ads, trailers and commercials.

Corman also let it be known that today’s method of Media Blitz and Hype for an up-coming film to sink or swim during it’s “Big Weekend” is ridiculously self-destructive.

People say he makes stinkers, so, what’s the rest of Hollyweird’s excuse? I haven’t seen so many idiotic remakes and sequels in all my life.

Which, I think allows Roger to have a better eye and understanding of Budget over Product.

Corman was recently a guest of IFC’s (Independent Film Channel) “Dinner For Five”. Opposite host, Jon Favreau, Faizon Love, Bruce Campbell and Rob Zombie.

A superb, Emmy Nomianted half-hour. Both Favreau and Campbell asked excellent questions, and Campbell would have taken notes if he could!

Corman was explaining a fixed budget opposite return when it comes to sequels.

Using his hands to depict both. As the sequel number progressed the distance between the two closed more and more.

With the pitch was made for a sixth sequel, Corman looked at the shrinking closure and stated:

“We’ve had a good run. There will be NO Canasaur 6!”

And Roger Corman, OMG! I love his low budget films, he’s the man for dreck! I remember MST3000 making a comment during one of his stinkers “If a tree falls in the forest, does that make a Corman film go over budget?”

Are the scripts you saw of fiction, or not?

The big three film schools are, according to Roger Corman; the undisputed King of Low Budget cinema:

NYU~ Where Corman discovered Coppola and Scorcese. First as Film Editors and later, Location Diectors.

USC~ Where Corman latched onto Ron Howard
after his Thesis Film. Howard agreed to star in “Grand Theft Auto” at no cost to Corman. If Ron could also direct two films. The deal was sealed with a handshake.

UCLA~ Where Corman found George Lucas and advised the gaduate to transfer his Thesis Film (”THX-1138″) from 16 to 35mm. Add twenty minutes more from what was cut and dropped on the Editing Room Floor and release the film as a first effort.

The talent to make films is in those schools, but the mindset of the students is much different than the 1970s.

Especially when a no-talent Socialist hack like Michael Moore can make millions with reveisonist dreck like “Bowling For Columbine” and “Farenheit 9/11″.

How well will the new talent fare with an extremely discriminationg audience?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Now, the scripts I saw was from the school, not Hollywood, but these kids are the people moving into Hollywood as they graduate and find jobs.
