- Actually, save for a number of obvious Bush hating obsessed writers, the majority of journalists in the so-called biased MSM are simply writing to inflame the people who are most likely to spend "emotion bucks". Controversy sells, and the more outlandish and contra-conservative the better it sells. If you're going to go for the compulsive crowd, you go for the stressed out group, fighting to get back in power. Which means the purpose behind cartoons of this sort is even more insensitive and baseless than they may seem to people they denigrate. This segment of the press/TV are intimately familiar with the credos of the left, and pander to that crowd just for the sake of the bottom line, much the same as what blogs like Daily Kos does, banking on the emotional confusion and personal issues of its flock for the sake of hits on the visit counter. Free enterprise in action...

Jeff, Don't you guys think that conservatives are trying to enforce abstinence? That's what that line in my parody of your post meant. I assumed you were just being funny, so I attempted to add to the humor.

"…because the MSM hates America and wants to destroy Christmas and loves the terrorists."

I don't believe your statement is accurate. The MSM only hates Republicans and other conservatives as far as I know.

It amazes me that one tasteless cartoon can produce so many personal attacks.
Granted that two people may draw different conclusions, and noting the range of conclusions drawn by a wide variety of observers, whatever 'point' was attempted failed to produce a clear result.
Those who may claim it was intended to provoke thought, must admit the 'toon appealed to emotions, not reason. Had the victim been bandaged, head to toe, in a body cast, or in a body bag, the Army would have been the clear target of the drawing. By drawing an amputee, (and ignoring the fact that the victim may have been proud of his service) the cartoon drew attention to the victim and ridiculed his sacrifice.
Note that there would be far less outrage if this was in the foreign press, where one expects an attack on American values. We may not always like it, but our troops protect those who despise democratic values.

"I didn't know that the Post favored the war. Good for them! I did too. I assumed they just supported the usual anti-war idiocy..."

...because the MSM hates America and wants to destroy Christmas and loves the terrorists.

By the way, WTF does this even mean: ..."and force them to not have sex."?

" There HAS to be a conspiracy out there, plotting against them, holding them back, trying to force religion on them, steal all of their money to give to oil companies, and force them to not have sex, or else…what are they whining for?"

Its not conspiracy that the Post favored the war. Just the usual pro-war idiocy.

You'll never win, Big Bang Hunter. They need this "Iraq was for nothing" argument so bad, they'll never let it go. They have to be the victims of some vast conservative/corporate/theocratic conspiracy or everything else they've built up in their heads will just crumble. There HAS to be a conspiracy out there, plotting against them, holding them back, trying to force religion on them, steal all of their money to give to oil companies, and force them to not have sex, or else…what are they whining for?

"Andrew…. How old are you?…I think you'll find that most "editors" on major newspapers got to be editors by being journalist/writers first. As the typical leftist debater is want to do, you're wandering off point."

The point i'm making is that the editors (who thanks to you were journalists first) took the editorial position that the US should invade iraq.

No need to argue abu gonzales conspiracies. Nothing. They flat out said it.

- The point is the left enjoys the support of the truculent, alarmist, pravaracation riddled, hatchet job articles, eminating from a long list of obviously biased MSM sources, and writers. The left and their press/TV lackies have raised misrepresentation to an art form.

- That is the "whatever"...

"Which proves what exactly? If you don't know Andrew I'll inform you. The Wapo does have a a few non-Liberal writers."

Not writers. An Editorial. The voice of the editorial board of the paper.

"ou really don't want to go there Andrew. There isn't enough room on this, and several other blogs, to document the wild, baseless accusations and attacks on Bush and his administration, all left wing Op-Ed pieces written under the guise of "news"."

Whatever. The point is on the war? The Post basically said 'lets roll into iraq.'

So lets see. I guess that example is ment to offset 39 straight days of front page coverage of Abu Graibe, which as it turns out, envolved a handfull of unsupervised, or poorly supervised people out of 140,000+ troops on the ground. Right. Check. When the checks from Soros dry up, the NYTrash will be history.

Worse, most containing outright unfounded, or un-sourced, blantant lies.

- Rather, Mapes, and the DNC thought they were big enough and important enough to take a bundle of phony memo's that the fenatical writer had been shopping around for years, and run a scam on the public right in the middle of a presidential campaign. Unfortunately they weren't aware they were backing a guy who shot himself in the ass twice with gernade launchers, and gave himself medals for it.

- I don't begrudge your propaganda rags. I find it amusing you keep denying the obvious. That is certainly "feckless", and pitiful denial politics.

NO BUT HIS REPUBLICAN'S ARE. peace

And thank goodness too! The only thing worse than the Republicans are the Democrats. It will be probably a decade before the Democratic party finishes it's collapse and is replaced by the Libertarian party. At that point, we can have reasonable debate between the parties and expect real progress.

Don't feel like supporting the Democrats is a waste of your time though Steve. It is opinions like yours that hasten the move towards progress. As it becomes clear that they are only offering hollow statements with no meaning behind them (such as 'peace', 'no blood for oil', 'not with my uteris' etc), Americans will increasingly shun the party of appeasement (both domestically and internationally). And then we can move on towards more meaningful platitudes like "peace via freedom", or "global interdependance means global peace and prosperity".

So when you say "peace" at the end of each statement you make, it's ok that you don't understand what it takes to create peace (i.e. freedom). Making the Democratic ideal known to the world is the most efficient way of ending the party and beginning the real Republican/Libertarian debate. You are furthering the march of freedom albeit unintentionally, but I nevertheless salute you.

As it becomes clear that they are only offering hollow statements with no meaning behind them (such as ‘peace’, ‘no blood for oil’, ‘not with my uteris’ etc), Americans will increasingly shun the party of appeasement (both domestically and internationally). And then we can move on towards more meaningful platitudes like “peace via freedom”, or “global interdependance means global peace and prosperity”.

So when you say “peace” at the end of each statement you make, it’s ok that you don’t understand what it takes to create peace (i.e. freedom). Making the Democratic ideal known to the world is the most efficient way of ending the party and beginning the real Republican/Libertarian debate. You are furthering the march of freedom albeit unintentionally, but I nevertheless salute you.

The post editorialized in favor of the war. Out indeed.
