That said, your last para tells it all. You see, “diplomacy” can only exist between parties that approach the table in good faith.

People who repeatedly return to the table only to tell more lies and threaten more killing are not parties to diplomacy; they are beasts.

My purpose in using this language is to implicitly declare my feeling, too, that “diplomacy” is dead as an infidel in Saudi Arabia. See what I’m saying?

6pointsout, Steve will never have an argument. Steve does not respond to logic or reason. You won’t learn much by discussing things with him. He is the unfortunate product of sociology101, and won’t make sense until he has taken sociology 201 or 202, or more likely until he has gone out into the real world. Until then, he’ll spout anarchist/communist rhetoric (but use big words sometimes!) as if they are truth. In the interst of your sanity, I suggest you ignore his comments

For the first time however, I grudgingly agree with him. Calling the other side ‘beasts’ is a severe hindrance to diplomacy. It is almost an admittance that diplomacy has failed and is over.

For my part, I have no problem admitting this. It’s over. The attempt from the world of Islam to suppress the rest of the world’s freedoms was the last straw. Diplomoacy has failed, and the next option on the list should be tried (I guess that’s sanctions, but only for a few months).

You have essentially reiterated your original statement that this is an issue of extremists. I disagree. You have not answered my previous post.

Where do YOU draw the line? Or is ALL behavior “non-beastly” to you? What is your position vis-a-vis the victims of the acts perpetrated by those you say I wrongly label “beastly”?

I don’t know what you are getting at. You seem to be suggesting I am an extremist (and you even slipped in the obligatory “Zionist” at the end, nice going) because I refer to those who call for acts of mass murder as “beasts”.

I shudder to think what one would have to do or be to make YOU willing to call them a beast.

Or is it all good by you – after all, in some cultures, gang rape is fine – as long as it only happens to someone else?

I listen carefully to many people who disagree with me, but I expect them to present reasoning better than “it’s all the extremists’ fault”.

From my POV, people who refuse to acknowledge Iran and all other hateful Muslim entities for what they are – based on the WORDS AND BEHAVIOR OF THE MUSLIMS, not on the dreamy imaginings of a Western moonbat – are the true extremists; so secure and certain in their moral inviolability that they will loudly demand a halo for their bravery while simultaneously betraying countless millions to death, fear, and suffering (generally at the hands of governments like Iran’s.)

Since you are evidently willing to write off other people’s freedom and lives so long as your own is protected, I hope you will consider the ugly implicit ethical cowardice in that position. Many people in the world are deprived of the freedom and safety that allow this poisonous ideology to fester.

It’s really just an opportunity for the West to show Islam how to protest in a civilized fashion. Or to show that we really don’t care what they print at all. Either way, it’s a valuable lesson.
