- You'd probably do pretty well on the odds on end of the betting tables in Vegas if you went with, "40 times the Liberals declare failure in Iraq", before it actually ends in a success. I'm keeping my own count, as we see each desperate final act of extreme asocial calamities inacted by the al Qaedists, and the perfectly predictable glee of the asshat brigade. I think very possibly at this point it would be nearly impossible to give me a convincing reason to ever vote for a Democrat for any reason ever again. Theres simply a limit to open mindedness....

BTW - If LurchKerry calls tell him its ok. We found the form 180 and Ter-ray-sa's ten straup flog in an abandoned Coke dispensing machine behind a 7/11 in Miami....

pcd YOU are working for the downfall of the U.S. in order to support a warped arrogant personality that you admire.
YOU are waving the flag of war so fast and hard that you cannot see three feet ahead of you. If you don't like defeat, neither do we. But it is where we are.
Do you suggest we do as that fool Iraqi PR guy did when we entered Baghdad and clownishly claim that things are different than what is perfectly obvious?
Ignoring reality is how we got into this mess. I'm tired of hearing you tell me what I should say. Control your own mouth, I'll take care of mine.

solitaire is correct. The War Party has gotten the American people stuck in an unwinable war. And the Democrats allowed them to do it. All politicians should be voted out of office in November unless they repent and begin to make Peace with the people of the world. Peace

"Now it is up to you to choose who you want to believe and what you can do to improve the chances of our future ".

I don't live in a make believe world, Baklava. Choose who I want to believe? You sound like we can choose alternate realities. You think words can make lemonade out of feces? Well, go ahead and spin the fact of Iraq if you want but it's not going to change things. They are what they are.
"Embolden the enemy" is the always the cry that tries to stifle dissent. But nobody can stop people from voicing dissent in this country forever, you may have noticed. Not even the neo-cons.
So, like you say, I'm taking a look at my own words and actions, I will be saying what I believe to be true, not just what I wish was true and this is the bottom line: I don't have one iota of hope for a positive outcome in Iraq as long as we are there. And there is where we are, and it looks like we are stuck there too. There is only one way out, that's OUT. If they start very soon, they could have us out in a year. But, I also don't have one iota of hope that the current administration will do that, so we're back to stuck. I will not sing the praises of the war simply because it's hopeless, like the poor men singing hymns on the Titanic as it sank. Go ahead if you must. I will continue to call for evacuation to the lifeboats. This ship IS sinking.

The place isn't on fire and you do have a bucket.

There are certainly some bullies in the playground but <strong>you</strong> have your words. It is my belief that it certainly doesn't help the situation to make the enemy more emboldened and "feel" they are on the verge of success of dismantling our progress. It is in Iraq AND America's interest for success. It is in Democrat and Republican's interest in success. I believe every liberal amateur and rank and file should rise to the occassion and make the dominant/legacy press feel ashamed at their journalism tactics. It isn't possible for conservatives to do so. Turn on the misinformers and make them be MORE responsive. In case after case (Katrina, Iraq, Cheney, economics) the press falls down on the job and puts forth an agenda versus the truth.

My leadership? It is this country's leadership. You can't change it. One of life's lessons is that you can't control/change other people. You can only look at your own words and actions and adjust them accordingly. In the movie "Changing Lanes", Ben Afleck and Samuel Jackson learn this lesson with striking results. I try to put this in action every day. I'm not perfect and have much to learn in life. But I do think it is useful for me to point out this solid lesson of life that everyone could improve on/with.

Nobody nobody nobody is asking you to take the blame for anything. I just wish for your sake that you would take some time to look at other viewpoints with an open heart and attitude. It is heartwarming to see that the dominant/legacy press does not control information anymore and peole are stepping up to the plate and reporting what is really going on in Iraq. <strong>Now it is up to you to choose who you want to believe and what you can do to improve the chances of our future</strong>

Well, yes, Baklava, I disagreed with the decision to go to war in the first place. Many were. Now that we're there, you want me to tell you the solution to the problem, knowing full well that the horse is out of the barn, the place is on fire, and I don't have a bucket. I never claimed to have a bucket. You don't like my attitude? I don't like your leadership.
solitaire wrote, "<em>Want? Roll back time maybe? A second chance? Divine intervention? What can be done? Spilt milk.</em>

My point made exactly. I have said this time and time again with every liberal. You simply disagreed with the decision to go to war in Iraq. That decision has LONG been made and can not be reversed. I have many times stated what do we do from here? And it seems to me that your attitude is <strike>lousy</strike> not so good.

What comes across to me from your statement (and it's why I asked what is your want/desire) is that you are almost gleeful for your party that a civil war might be breaking out. But thankfully (as is tyhe usual case), it looks like the media may have overstated the case.

Now look at what I just wrote. What comes across from my statement (you can ask what my desire/want is) is that I would hate to see Iraq throw away their oportunity after having been freed from oppression. You see how that works my friend?

And it has NOTHING to do with individuals like Bush

Comment by Baklava :
What is your desire/want on this issue?

Want? Roll back time maybe? A second chance? Divine intervention? What can be done? Spilt milk.

Desire? What does anybody desire? Please don't mistake me for someone who has hope for this war, or our role in it. What does anybody's opinion matter anyway? Me? I'm just a voice in a electonic wilderness wondering what the heck happened to us.

Steve don't confuse analytical reasoning for daydreaming fantasy. The two are extremely different and you are wasting your time thinking that you are analytical in any fashion. Invading Iraq should of been done under the Clinton Administration, since he didn't have the onions to do it, GW had too. But then the well reasoned Clinton did go into Somalia with no heavy equipment. Steve how did you survive your teen years with such illogical conclusions?? - Lorica
