I don’t live in a make believe world, Baklava. Choose who I want to believe? You sound like we can choose alternate realities. You think words can make lemonade out of feces? Well, go ahead and spin the fact of Iraq if you want but it’s not going to change things. They are what they are.
“Embolden the enemy” is the always the cry that tries to stifle dissent. But nobody can stop people from voicing dissent in this country forever, you may have noticed. Not even the neo-cons.
So, like you say, I’m taking a look at my own words and actions, I will be saying what I believe to be true, not just what I wish was true and this is the bottom line: I don’t have one iota of hope for a positive outcome in Iraq as long as we are there. And there is where we are, and it looks like we are stuck there too. There is only one way out, that’s OUT. If they start very soon, they could have us out in a year. But, I also don’t have one iota of hope that the current administration will do that, so we’re back to stuck. I will not sing the praises of the war simply because it’s hopeless, like the poor men singing hymns on the Titanic as it sank. Go ahead if you must. I will continue to call for evacuation to the lifeboats. This ship IS sinking.

There are certainly some bullies in the playground but you have your words. It is my belief that it certainly doesn’t help the situation to make the enemy more emboldened and “feel” they are on the verge of success of dismantling our progress. It is in Iraq AND America’s interest for success. It is in Democrat and Republican’s interest in success. I believe every liberal amateur and rank and file should rise to the occassion and make the dominant/legacy press feel ashamed at their journalism tactics. It isn’t possible for conservatives to do so. Turn on the misinformers and make them be MORE responsive. In case after case (Katrina, Iraq, Cheney, economics) the press falls down on the job and puts forth an agenda versus the truth.

My point made exactly. I have said this time and time again with every liberal. You simply disagreed with the decision to go to war in Iraq. That decision has LONG been made and can not be reversed. I have many times stated what do we do from here? And it seems to me that your attitude is lousy not so good.

What comes across to me from your statement (and it’s why I asked what is your want/desire) is that you are almost gleeful for your party that a civil war might be breaking out. But thankfully (as is tyhe usual case), it looks like the media may have overstated the case.

Now look at what I just wrote. What comes across from my statement (you can ask what my desire/want is) is that I would hate to see Iraq throw away their oportunity after having been freed from oppression. You see how that works my friend?
