The whole Jill Carroll kidnapping issue has had me thinking about the Patty Hearst scam with the SLA back in the ’70s. For those of you too young to remember, Patty Hearst was a little rich b_____ who was “kidnapped” by a terrorist group calling themselves the SLA. Less than 3 months later, she was leading the group in a bank robbery and was caught on the bank’s security camera.

Its clear she means no physical harm. She did say she was threatened. It also may be a statement to mollify her family and friends. One person I know is acquainted with her, and he was glad to hear she said that.

Both cannot be true. So was she working with her “captors” all along, or did she contract a severe case of “Stockholm Syndrome?”

I don’t know. I get the feeling that Jill Carroll may be the next version of Yvonne Ridley. Ridley, for those of you who don’t remember, was taken hostage in Afghanistan in late 2001, and was released. She very quickly converted to Islam, went to work shilling for Al Jazeera, and was subsequently fired for being too much of a pro-terror shill.
