As a Philadelphia Eagle fan for nearly fifty years, I can speak to the problems of McNabb. Rush’s comments followed a season where the third-string quarterback carried the team to the playoffs, and was promptly forgotten in the hoopla of the return of McNabb from injuries earlier in the season. A.J.Feely – I think that’s the guy’s name – was relegated to a footnote, and the great McNabb was hailed as a returning hero. And the Eagles did not go to the Super Bowl.

Off to the left, the now not so distant drum beat of tribal fools awakens the herds, flocks, gaggles and pods of the bloodthirsty even more, as they await the next feeding frenzy.
