Will, not literally, but figuratively speaking. Surprised I have any left after today’s craziness.
I had the day from you know where for most of the day – I think there’s some liberal conspiracy somewhere that is hindering me from being able to blog when I want to
. I’m getting ready to eat dinner and get comfy, and once I do that, I’ll catch up on some blogging tonight.
I know there are a few issues out there to discuss, so please feel free to use this as an open thread to talk about them until I get around to catching up later this evening.

- Since the Dimbulbs have no idea what they’d do if they actually got back in control of the Senate, it was funny watching some of them try to find someplace to put this “Hayden” appointnment. Of course Pelosi was all about hints at impeachment hearings, which most Democratic political advisors are litterily begging the Dems to STHU on, and Dianne (if I say something stupid just call my office) Feinstein was busy trying to “correct the mis-impression” that she was against the Hayden appointment.
- I’m certainly not happy with the lack of spine the Reps have shown for the past 6 years in some regards, but I look at the Democrats and all I see is vacuous looks when you ask what their party plans are, immediately followed by an uninterupted flow of left wing “get Bush” talking points, most of which if they’d bother to look, the majority of Amercans don’t agree with.
- One case in point is this constantly mis-represented “Wire tap” nonsense. The Dems just won’t let go of it, and it may be just one more embarrassment they’ll wish they never heard of. Every Senator, Dem and Rep, thats been given a full debriefing says its really vital and a good program. But certain profoundly arrogant Capital Hill mavins just seem to feel they’re entitled. Thats it. they’re evidently just angry they’re not on the Security committee, and they see it as a possible get Bush issue.
- The eeeeevilll Neocon master, K. Rove, has stated he wants it to happen, is hoping that it will come up again in the Hayden comformation hearings so the Dems will have yet another opportunity to prove they’re soft on terror and totally ignorant of the wishes of the American people.
- Given the normal “six year itch” nature of typical change-over years in Congress during a two term presidentential cycle, if the Dems manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this time around they might as well pack up and go home. But watching them emulate a clown car, it very well could happen.

- Z. Moussoui now says he was lying on the stand about his part in the 9/11 attacks and wants to change his plea from guilty to not guilty. Aside from that not being a possible action, maybe someone should inform him that doubt as to his level of involvement is probably the only reason hes not sitting on death row right now.

ST, it is not a liberal conspiracy, it is a Bushitler conspiracy. Yep – W skulks around in his office 24/7 just hatching dastardly plots to make people’s lives miserable – especially yours. All the Democrats say so, and you cannot refute wisdom like that.
Mark Levin writes this analysis about the pathetic hypocrits on the dimbulb team. Just another piece that snaps right into the rest of their big puzzle game.
“Early on, prosecutors claimed they had evidence of over ten felonies. They demanded that Rush plead guilty to some felony—any felony. He refused, always insisting on his innocence. So, they leaked more lies to the media, hoping to intimidate him. They seized his medical records. They gave his medical records to the media. The media took those records and turned them into graphics for television. Reporters and commentators were studying his prescriptions, discussing both the kinds and amount of medicine he had taken. They were beside themselves with glee. Newsweek, AP and the Palm Beach Post, Rush’s local paper, were especially vicious, serving as lap-dogs for the prosecutors.
In court, Rush fought these people every step of the way—all the way to the Florida Supreme Court. He spent millions of dollars defending himself—despite the fact that he had been a first-time abuser, went to rehab, and was clean. And then last October, the lead prosecutor sauntered into court and in response to questioning told the judge—we have no evidence that Rush Limbaugh has committed any crime! None.
So, I am very angry. You will hear commentator after commentator speaking sympathetically about Patrick Kennedy and his addiction to painkillers. You will hear people say that he is addicted, he has a serious health problem, he deserves to be praised for his forthrightness today, and we should leave him alone. And many of these commentators will be the same people who were giddy in their ceaseless attacks on Rush.
I am angry at the double standard, where liberals are regularly treated one way and conservatives another. I am also glad Patrick Kennedy won’t be abused as Rush was. But you can be sure that the next conservative with a problem won’t be treated like Kennedy.
But there are some aspects to the Kennedy matter that require answers. If Patrick Kennedy, who is not a first offender, is addicted to painkillers, from where did he get them? And there are news reports that he had been drinking earlier at a Capitol Hill bar and alcohol was later smelled on his breath. So, why was the officer on the scene prevented by more senior police officers from performing a routine sobriety test?
I truly wish Patrick Kennedy well. But you bet I’m angry.”
ST- you say you’re getting ready to eat dinner. Things must’ve improved. Speaking of improved…NC are you out there?
forest,
The crime is allowing Kennedy to remain a member of the House of Representatives. He’s in violation of the House Ethics rules and he’s not going through the system of courts for his crimes.
On the bright side, Patrick is a shining example of the Democrat party. A totalitarian regime in waiting. Where the laws don’t apply to them and opposing them is illegal.
Well PCD, as Orwell said, all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others…
Sev, that certainly describes the morals and sensibilities of the Kennedy Clan, that of animals.
- I watched ex-Senator Bob Graham (D-Fl.) on FOX this morning, and once again we see the total disarray and confused dysfunction from the Democrats, even retiree’s. He was asked about the ongoing negotiations of the Bush administration in the talks with Iran. Things that he stated, again in opposition to any sort of truth of the situation, makes you wonder why these people are even asked to talk.
- The Iran situation is critical and the biggest threat we face, (probably the only thing he got right)
- The US should be at the negotiating table. We have been since day one through diplomatic channels. Bush and Condi Rice have been almost full time on this since the very beginning. Apparently he didn’t get the memo. His complaint is we are letting Germany, France, and England do all the Negotiating. Last time it was we were unilaterily negotiating with N. Korea, and not h the coalition. He also said we have to work more closely with the Coalition over Iran. I guess, like all Democrats hes just unhappy, and not sure what to say, but if its Bush then no matter what he does hes wrong.
- Another item he brought up in looking for some way to discredit Bush, really set me off. Apparently hes now working with thw Kennedy Library and he mentioned a friend of his that wrote a book on the Cuban missle crisus, and tried to compare the situation with Iran with that period in history. Its simply amazing too me that people that are supposed to be “in the know” and so called experts in these areas don’t seem to know what the hell they’re talking about. The Cuban missle crisus in no way compares with Iran. I lived through the Cuban mess, and studied it extensively during the days before the Liberal media and certain Kennedy apoligists essentially glossed over the real causes.
- The little dirty item that all the Kennedy flacks always manage to leave out is that three months before Khruschev moved Russian missles into Cuba, Kennedy had authorized long range missle implacements in Turkey, aimed right at Russia. Khruschevs actions were in direct response to those deployments, so the truth is the whole world was put in danger of a massive nuclear war, basically because of Kennedy’s blunders, and the whole event very likely never needed to occur.
- One other thing the Senator mentioned is the “mess in Iraq”. That the Iraqi government announced just yeaterday that the new cabinet will be introduced in a few days, fully three weeks ahead of schedule, was news that must have escaped Graham.
- so once again we see the Democrats following the same agenda they’ve been hard at work at for 6+ years now:
- Dig in their heels and basically obstruct in every way possible the Bush adminstrations efforts.
- Bad mouth and demeen every action Bush tries to take, using every second on TV they can possible get to repeat the lies.
- Try to confuse the public as much as possible by repeating totally discredited lies over and over and over, no matter how many times they are braced about it or told otherwise, such as the so called NSA “wire-tap” nonsense, which in itself is a misnomer, and worse for the donkeys is overwhelmingly supported by the vast majority of Americans.
- Keep using wrong headed comparisons, (Iraq and Vietnam etc) and even those mistated as I mentioned above.
- Have no ideas or plan for alternatives, no real party platform, just the empty “We’re not Bush” bleat.
- The Democrats are whistling past the cemetary if they think that will be sufficient to gain voters confidence and translate into victory at the ballot box. I watch these people and at times it seems they either have an arrogant disrespect for the intelligence of the American voter, or from some of the idiotic things they say, must live on a different planet from the rest of us.

Incredibly, the History Channel (I believe so don’t quote me) actually got this right and had it in a recent documentary that they showed. I was surprised. It was understandable that the Russians did what they did in this situation and I’m SO GLAD that the situation was diffused. And I’m so glad that a direct line of communication was established due to this event. It’d be nice if we had these direct lines with every country.
I’m NOT saying that Russia’s deployment of subs with nuclear tipped torpedo’s or deployment of nuclear missles off of Florida was good. I’m saying that they probably felt they had to do what they did given our missle placements so close to Russia’s border.
Now… ICBM’s (Inter Continental Ballistic Missles) can reach anywhere on the globe so placement isn’t an issue. What IS an issue is that Clinton and Lorad gave technology to North Korea in order to supposely help them lanuch sattelites but it’s similar technology that helped North Korea launch test missles over Japan a few years back. If NK also is able to make a Nuclear warhead or receive the technology from Iran, many millions of people could be threatened. And for what? Because NK wants to keep it’s big government approach to an economy? No private ownership, no freedom to reap rewards of hard work and entrepreneurship.
Bak, That was Cnina and Loral, not NK and Lorad.
Anyone see that Jan “The US is Stingy” Egeland got chased out of a Darfur refugee camp? There was a 2 column inch article on the back of the local rag’s sports section today.
- Bak… the entire situation was “defused” when Kennedy agreed to pull the missles from Turkey, which rather than being a show of “Great statesmanship” that Kennedy worshipers so love to crow about, actually amounted to him having to pull his foot out of his un-diplomatic mouth. So much for the Kennedy “mystique”. But then he had bigger fish to fry around that time, with MM singing birthday songs to him from the stage of the RNC in New York, and threatening to go public with their love affair if he didn’t stop cutting off her multiple daily telephone calls to the WH. Of course as usual the Kennedy answer was to send Bobby to take care of “the problem”. “Mr. President we hardly knew yee” indeed.

Thanks for the correction PCD. We did give technology to NK though.
Bang, Yes. The Russian’s demands were met with the action they wanted. The missiles removed from Turkey. However, the diplomatic problems continued for a while due to the distrust that followed.
I have never understood America’s love affair with the Kennedy’s. All of them, from Joe on down, have been egotistical, narcisistic, unethical, low class ruffians who thought they should not have to play by the same rules everyone else did, and all of them, including JFK, have not been the political gods they’re claimed to be. JFK created the Cuban Missile Crisis, and instead of standing up to the Russians, which everyone claims he did, caved in and back tracked. About the only thing he did that I liked was push NASA to the moon, but that was probably because he or his cronies wanted the monetary kickbacks.
- Nori Al-Maliki, the incoming Prime minister elect of the fledgling Iraqi government stated today that by thursday of this week he will officially present his cabinet of sub-ministers to the Iraqui parliment.
- Speaking today he made it clear that after the new cabinet is in place his government will set about disbanding all party associated militias, and does not intend to support any leader or party that operates such outlaw groups. Observers say it was a very strong message to enclave heads such as Al Masadre, the strongman Muslim Cleric who has had at least two run-ins with coalition forces in the past.
- On the one hand, if the new PM can make good on his goals it should go a long way in reducing the sectoral killings that have continued, although at a reduced level of frequency, as the Iraqi’s have struggled to bring the three major religious communities together in a workable coalitional government, and on the other may well be the long hoped for “turning of the corner” in the Iraq war.
- Defense secretary Don Rumsfeld, speaking at a morning news conference, stated that he felt this was a step of prime importance toward stabilization of the region, and is optimistic after meeting with the PM and cabinet elect earlier last week.
- After listening to the Liberals yammering about the foot dragging all during this painful process, if it looks like things will go in a successful direction I fully expect them to discount the advances by complaining that the Bush administration is “imprinting” too much of its own ideas on the new Iraqi government instead of allowing them to form up in the way they see fit. Expect terms like “puppet regime” etc, to start making the rounds.
- The Democrats, in anticipation of the fall elections and having absolutely zero party plan, will continue on the Bush bashing campaign to the bitter end. At this point watching the Democratic Uber-partisan “party comes first and the hell with America” agenda for these past 6+ years, its doubtful you could muster any sort of viable argument to cause a great many Americans to vote Democrat for a long long time. Those that live by the lie die by the lie would be bad enough, but to be so willing to root against your own country so openly and deliberately, is a mis-step the donkeys may be trying to overcome for generations. I know that I, and many of my Conservative friends, won’t soon forget.

- In two other unrelated events, local papers are reporting that Jan Egeland’s UN peace keeping group was attacked by rioters as they tried to meet with representatives of various village groups in Dufar. The protesters were demanding greater UN involvement in controlling local Muslim gangs that have been preying on the people. Egeland was meeting with about 1000 protesters in Kalma camp, a refuge center near Nyala Sudan, Dufar, home of 90,000 displaced people.
- Someone started shouting that Egelands translator was a spy from the feared Jawjaweed Atab Muslim militia and attacked him. Both Egeland and the translator escaped in a UN van, along with other UN humanitarian representatives. Although the convoy escaped unharmed with only several windows in the vans being broken, about a half hour later protesters attacked African Union representatives in a nearby compound killing at least one translator.
- Jan Pronk, chief UN envoy to the Sudan had earlier praised the rebel Sudan Liberation Movement for signing a preliminary peace accord last friday, but cautioned that the deal would not neccessarily mean an immediate end to fighting between government forces and the various tribal leaders and Muslim sects.
- Always nice to see some Liberal have the opportunity to put their famous “theories” to the test in the real world.
- On another front in the ongoing “undocumented alien” battles, FOX news is reporting that the US border patrol has been intentionally informing their Mexican counter parts of the exact location of the minutemen along the border for some time now.
- This is a real what the hell is going on moment. All politicians, both Democrat and Republican, along with the Bush administration, should be aware that if they’re worried about the Hispanic vote and that so-called sleeping giant, they should be aware that the American Electorate is getting very close to the end of its rope on this issue and they may awaken the sleeping 200 ton Dragon. If they just won’t listen in Washington ,and they keep working at cross purposes to Ameican voters wishes, this issue may well be the Republicans “swift boat” this time around. Write/Email your Congressman and the WH and let them know how you feel.
