It seems like a pain, but I kind of like it when they make laws that last X number of years. That way, if the law turns out to be harmful in some way, they can’t just brush it under the carpet, since they have to vote to keep it active.

I hope they do that with more laws, so the unpopular ones will fade away, since congressmen won’t want to vote for them. That may be wishful thinking though, if their handling of illegal immigration is typical.
