This is really GOOD news! For the Republicans, that is. If a leftist bumps Lieberman in the primary, let's hope the Republicans nominate an electable candidate.

While I have great respect for Joe Lieberman, another Republican senator would serve the Democratic Party right.

CT is such a lost case... Let's focus on the states where the actual event of taking down a Dem Senator will really matter.

Forest Hunter, it is not an accident that the Left is spinning this as a victory. The MSM and Democrats present a Chamberlain-esque cut-and-run scheme as a winning strategy in Iraq, they want to impeach President Bush for not breaking the law with the NSA terrorist surveillance program, and they assert that the fact that Saddam was trying to but uranium in Niger (not to mention his al Qaeda connections) is proof that Bush lied us into the Iraq war. Getting crushed by a 2-1 margin in a Democratic state convention is small change compared to what the Left has done before.

Just think of what would have happened if Landslide Lamont had failed to get 15%. The MSM would be calling him "Senator-elect" Lamont.

So MD, if he'd gotten a couple dozen less votes, though he technically remains on the radar screen, would there need to be a runoff? Or do they call that a drainage plan?
