OK, so it became big[ger] on Friday, but I'd think blogs would be doing more about this:
<a href="http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MTNkYmZmY2RiMWMwOGRlMzJmZjQ3YWUwYjc1NTI0NzY=" target="_blank"><strong>LINK</strong></a>
"... What is happening in Ankara is amazing. Crowds booed Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul—the ruling party's representative at the funeral—and police corridors had to protect the ruling AKP ministers from the crowds. Journalists are also saying people screamed "Murderer" at the Prime Minister. The crowd even booed former AKP politicians who had defected from the party in recent months. Tens of thousands of Turks are rallying spontaneously in favor of secularism and liberalism. ..."

Turks --- including Moslem --- are getting angry with the increasingly Islamist [as opposed to Islamic] stance of the government, especially when coupled with scandals.

If the government tries to keep going the way of Iran and Taliban, the military may break a fairly recent pledge to keep out of the conflict. A couple of times in the past, military ousted governments which it was felt were departing from norms: a couple of years ago, it said it would no longer do so --- but the possibility is still present.

As I have no bullfrog story, I will submit a heartwarming story I just read over at stoptheACLU. It seems a graduating class of a Kentucky high school rebelled against a judge's order barring a commencement prayer. This was done after legal action by the ACLU on behalf of a single student who apparently thought sitting through a simple prayer was cruel and unusual. As the pricipal began his opening remarks, the entire class (except for the one, I'm sure) stood and recited the Lord's Prayer, the end of which was drowned out by the thunderous applause of the audience. Reminds me of another story I recently heard, of a scheme by which another class of graduating seniors, at a pre-arranged signal toward the end of the valedictorian's address, let out in unison a great sneeze, to which the valedictorian responded with, "God Bless you all." Ah, kids these days...

I cannot even leave my windows open on the few nice nights we have in NC, at least at bed time. Between the frogs, toads, geese, ducks, owls, and foxes (feexes?), it is like living in a zoo. And I live in Raleigh, not the boonies.

And what do you mean "has Chris Matthews become unhinged?" He went full nuttaram when he got into it with Zell :d

Oh my God - I'd have flipped out had that happened to me. I get queasy at the sight of a tiny bug or spider on the wall ... let alone a bullfrog in the toilet! I doubt you got any sleep after that, Severian ;) Thank God there was enough light in your bathroom to see him! LOL

At least the bullfrogs were outside.

One night a couple of years ago, I wake up in the middle of the night and stagger into the bathroom to answer nature's call. It's like 3:30 am, definitely 0 dark thirty, and I'm mostly asleep. As I look at the toilet while I'm stumbling in, in the half light of the small night light in the bathroom, I see the toilet is filled with something dark.

Ew, I think, someone didn't flush. Then, to my shock and horror, it starts MOVING!!! Arrrrrggggghhhhhhh!

It then crawls up onto the seat, and I see it's this huge, slimey bullfrog, about as big as a saucer! Arrrrrggggghhhhh!

Then this slimy amphibian decides to jump, straight at me...double ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

After I recovered from a near coronary, I have to grab a towel and chase this dirty creature around the bathroom, grab it and throw it outside. Not what I was ready for at 0 dark thirty to say the least.

I still look before sitting down. :-ss

So, count your blessings Sister! ;)
