Weekend open thread

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on May 27, 2006 at 10:07 am

Got some shopping to do, and a much-anticipated appointment at the salon this afternoon, so I’ll be out for most of the day – and at the same time doing my best to avoid race weekend traffic at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (ugh).

Here’s your open thread for this weekend.

One thing I’ve been remiss about doing is devoting a couple of posts a month to note what ST readers are talking about at their blogs. It’s not something I’ve consciously done, I assure you. My readers blogroll is located just under the recent comments section on the left column of this blog. Please peruse those to find out what your fellow readers and commenters are up to :)

I’d like to give special mention to ST reader scmommy, who took a hiatus for a little over two months from blogging – she’s now blogging again, and I know I’m not the only one glad to see her back.

Have a great Saturday!

You’d better not cut that gorgeous hair!

LOL :) I was thinking the same thing Dana. I had to go look at Sis’ picture just to refresh my mind of what her hair looked like. :) – Lorica

      “Much-anticipated appointment at the salon”

      That made me chuckle.

My contribution to this thread – saw X-Men 3 last night and it was a good movie. If you enjoyed the first two, you’ll enjoy the third. That is all. :)

Here is a court win for online reporters and bloggers.

A win for Bloggers- Court rules Bloggers are entitled to the same protections as reporters

Sorry Sister, I accidentally popped this in twice, in a different comment.

      Mea Culpa.

    5. The Sandbox says:

Brand new series (branching off my old one)! The Sandbox and California Conservative have teamed up to bring you “Why We Fight – The Soldiers’ Stories,” a new series that will hopefully bring out some great stories! Sister, you’ve helped me in the past with this and I thank you for the open thread to be able to bring some light to it again!

Go check it out. It’s especially fitting for Memorial Day weekend!

    7. Dana says:

Lorica, Sis’ picture on her site (which used tto be up on the main page) is the reason I’m too humiliated to post mine on my site!

    8. benning says:

“Wanna protect the security of the United States at her southern border? Well, you’ll have to ask Mexico what she thinks about it first. That’s right! Our United States Senators, who we pay, who work for us, decided that Mexico has a say in what we do.

Believe that the US government gives a rat’s ass about you, or what you want? Guess again. Think they care about the illegal immigration problem? Think they’re going to fix the problem? Maybe even address it with some intelligent ideas for once? Don’t hold your breath!”

      And I wrote more here.

Oh, and come Buy My Book! An Historical Novel set during the American Revolution. Good adventure tale. It’s a print-on-demand book, for $14.99 + shipping and handling. My mother thinks it’s worth the price.

      Heheheee! Come on! :d

    9. NC Cop says:

      Say again, hunter?

    10. forest hunter says:

NC, where are you man? Sorry I’m late.

    11. Mwa – You’re going to see a lot of this sort of weirdness from the left-wing media in the leadup to 2008, because the hard left faction of the Dems has put out the word they don’t want Hilldebeast. They’re trying to leep it overt, but apparently the LA Times moonbats got carried away. Either that or they think they can get ahead of the news cycle. Something like that anyway. Its way way too early for any of this, but as usual common sense is left at the doors of the drive by bunch. (pun intended).

The funny thing is how these bb brained idiots thing that Mr. Oral Office himself is going to stop the sex crimes by UN peacekeepers. Yes the world needs Billy Bob, I mean he can’t be any worse than “Hell No” Kofi. This is just to be expected, these guys are falling apart and they don’t even know it. I have heard twice in the last week how the Dems need to run Barak Obama in 08. I keep thinking what ever happen to a need for Foreign Policy Experience, now all of a sudden that doesn’t matter, and we need Barak. Are these guys consistant on anything anymore?? – Lorica

    13. Lorica – “No” – *snort*
