Sweetness and Light posts about the entire timeline on How Haditha came to Light.

S & L says at the end:

These are the kind of sources Time trusted for such an important story. But for some reason they didn't tell us about their backgrounds.

I guess we don't need to know.

Briones also faces a felony charge of possession of marijuana for sale in 2003, Kings County District Attorney Ronald Calhoun said.

Sweetness and Light also posts this about the Time reporter who broke the Haditha story:

Time correspondent Tim McGirk, who broke the Haditha story, said that in the weeks before publication, he had lobbied editors to use the word "massacre" in the March 27 story.

"That was a battle I lost" Mr. McGirk said by phone May 30 from Jerusalem, where he is currently based. "I think the editors felt ‘massacre' was too heavy of a word. They didn't want to use it; they felt there was some justification for what had happened."

"I think it was definitely a massacre" Mr. McGirk said.

Sweetness and Light raises questions about the Haditha incident investigator in Iraq

One point written:

Note that this same "budding journalism student" and self-proclaimed human rights watcher did not bother to turn over his video to a media outlet or a real human rights group from November 2005 until March 2006. A four month delay.

That's how eager they were to make sure such a crime is never again repeated.

Another story from Sweetness and Light concerning the Marine named ance Cpl. Roel Briones who was ordered to photograph the victims bodies in Haditha.

Sweetness writes, "Apparently all of Briones' statements to the media about being ordered to photograph the Haditha corpses were made after his drunken hit and run felony on April 3, 2006. (His first appearance in the press seems to be an interview with the Los Angeles Times on May 29, 2006.)

If Briones was so traumatized by what he saw in Haditha, why did he wait six months to tell anyone about it?

Isn't it possible that once the Haditha story came out, Briones latched onto it as a way to beat these very serious charges? They include auto theft, drunk-driving, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident. "

- Yes ST.... The moonbats brigade is trying to spin this, speculating about "colateral damage, and how many other Iraqi's did we kill getting Zarqawi....

- Unfortunately for their "cause" on the ground video's show clearly the safehouse that we bombed was totally isolated and completely surrounded by a large grove of tree's, so absolutely no nother hoses were hit, or innocents killed. They'll have to come up with some other angle, that dog don't hunt.

- I wonder if the left scum every gets tired of being on the side of America's enemies.....or is treason an "aquired taste"....

If ever you needed a demonstration of how the MSM and Democrat's "cut and run" whining can make a war longer and encourage the enemy, there's this little tidbit from Frontinus's "Strategems." The Romans surrounded a fortified city to lay siege to it. The city's leaders responded "So? We have supplies for 10 years." The Roman commander was noted to have replied "Well, then we'll just take the city in the 11th year then." The city surrendered the next day, knowing that when the Romans said they'd be there 11 years from now, you knew that they would be there, and their mood was not likely to have been improved by 11 years of waiting.

This is the kind of "street cred" in the "Arab street" that the US needs in order to make this war go better and with less carnage, and it's exactly the thing that the whining, caterwauling, "dissent is patriotic" moonbat crowd is denying us and hurting the US, and the Iraqi's (who, God knows, would like this whole mess to be over so they can get back to their lives). And buying into the jihadist's propaganda is among the worst possible things the media can do
