As a resident of the 4th Congressional district here in Atlanta — McKinney’s district — I thought at first that it might be entirely likely that McKinney might get re-elected in November. But now I think that, this time around, she may have lost too much of her support from whites who previously have given her a pass on her shenanigans. This time, the race-baiting was right out there for everyone to see, unmistakably clear, and perhaps too many people now have a suspicion that Cynthia really only cares about representing one particular demographic of her constituency. Which would be the truth, I think.

Let’s hope I’m right. Denise Majette, where are you when we need you?!

Well, Eno, as a police officer I can tell you this is a serious crime. This wasn’t a case of mistaken identity of a simple mistake. This was about a woman who thought she was above having to stop for the police and didn’t want to be bothered with the rules. This cop was doing EXACTLY what he was supposed to be doing and she assaulted him. Unfortunately, the tolerance of violence against law enforcement is getting worse in this country. This is a prime example.

All McKinney had to do was admit (initially) that a mistake was made (on her part) and this would not be a story. When the dip decided to play the race BS, her credibility went in the toilet.

I don’t really have a problem with her not being charged ST. I know, she hit a cop, if you or I did that, we would be hauled off to the hooskow for weeks. The fact of the matter is the officer made an honest mistake, and she in no way or form injured the man. I’m sorry, but I’m a public defender, and I represent people who have committed serious offenses. I just can’t get excited about this one. The really interesting thing is McKinney has made a cottage industry of making accusations about “privileged” people stepping on the little guy. She has obviously used her influence as a congresswoman to step on some underpaid officer in this case. I’m sure all the liberals and Democrats who come to your excellent site will condemn her in the near future.

I’m not holding my breath.
