While a separate investigation into the incident in Haditha continues, the investigation into whether there was a coverup of the purported incident has been completed, and the result is that there was no knowing coverup (via the ubiquitous leakers)…..

But we can AT LEAST expect or TRY TO EXPECT leftists here in this country who benefit from freedom and alternative viewpoints and news NOT to perpetuate FALSEHOODS from detainees or the enemy. Newsweek who started that one, Murtha who started this Haditha one, the ACLU who was just smacked down by the LATimes opinion piece, not only will not offer some doubt when given accusations but will say “there is no doubt” and add to the accusations with accusations of “cold blood”.

Thier freedom of speech is making them look DUMB and I hope they CONTINUE. But I would hope that the new Haditha information is spread FAR and wide.

Hmmm..Wasn’t Lee Harvey Oswald an ex-Marine? I guess then that they think we must honor him as well, he wasn’t assassinating a siting president, he was just casting a retroactive veto on the election! A true patriot! A War Hero! Can’t say anything negative about him, unless you too were in the Marines!

WRT the Koran incident, I have to admit that when I first heard about that ridiculous charge of Koran “abuse” I immediately thought about Vlad “The Impaler” Tepich, Prince of Romania, and his encounter with the Turkish ambassadors. They came into his throne room wearing their turbans, which he immediately told them to remove, it was rude to be in his presence with them on. They replied that they never went bareheaded in the presence of unbelievers. So, he had their turbans nailed to their heads, and their bodies sent back to the Sultan.

I immediately thought that we should nail the Korans to the prisoner’s hands, so that we could ensure that no one else handled them in a disrespectful manner.

Predictably, the ACLU has cried “whitewash.” But what we are seeing is the refusal by administration critics to see anything other than the “torture narrative” they have constructed.

That “narrative” goes like this: Bush and his war Cabinet opened the door to detainee abuse, first by refusing to accord captured Al Qaeda and Taliban members Geneva Convention rights, and second, by permitting the use of aggressive interrogation techniques. Therefore, says the human rights crowd, Bush and other senior officials are morally — and some say legally — responsible for all of the abuses that have taken place since Sept. 11, 2001. Although this story has become holy writ in liberal circles, it is legally preposterous and logically flawed.

As a matter of law, guilt for war crimes can be imposed up the chain of command only when superiors have ordered the offending conduct or have failed to take appropriate disciplinary measures once they become aware that abusive conduct is taking place. But as these reports demonstrate, allegations of wrongdoing by U.S. forces have been thoroughly investigated and punished when called for. There simply is no rule of “strict liability” that would support the punishment of either military or civilian superior officers or officials without evidence that they ordered or condoned abuses.

In an effort to show that on the Bush administration’s evil watch the U.S. military has been systematically mistreating prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan with tacit approval or even outright encouragement from its civilian superiors, the American Civil Liberties Union has been demanding the release of dozens of internal military investigative reports. But the two reports on U.S. detainee policy just released in response to an ACLU lawsuit paint a picture quite the opposite of what the ACLU expected.

Step up to the plate and give to charity in as much percentages as conservatives do. Show people you ACTUALLY care as much as your lying gullible buts claim to care.

Not only should htey stop prejudging but they should APOLOGIZE for their shameful behavior and conviction before the evidence and trial and defense was given.
