I can’t imagine why Rush would have wanted to keep a Viagra prescription out of the public eye

Question that needs to be answered: is it ok for doctors to issue prescriptions in their name, rather than that of the person who will actually be taking the medication, for ‘privacy’ purposes? Limbaugh’s attorney seems to be saying “yes” here (scroll), but seeing as he’s Rush’s attorney, that has to be taken with a grain of salt.

PM Update I: A possible answer for the above:

It is generally not illegal under Florida law for a physician to prescribe medication in a third party’s name if all parties are aware and the doctor documents it correctly, said Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the state attorney in Palm Beach County. He would not discuss specifics in the Limbaugh case Tuesday.
