No Tim, it doesn’t get the science wrong. Mann and the IPCC get it wrong, deliberately, because they know it pays.

The facts are that global warming is happening, albeit very slight, with no indication that it’s going to become the apocalyptic event they say it is. And there is basically NO data that supports human activities being responsible for more than the most minute part of it, if any. The computer models used to show runaway warming ALL assume positive feedback effects that have NEVER been shown to be true in any observation, and the models don’t even predict past climatic events, as they ignore critically important atmospheric effects such as clouds and tropical monsoons.

The sun is getting hotter, has been for quite some time, and that cycle will probably stop in another few years and the sun will go into period of reduced output. This has happened before, and will happen again and again regardless of what humans do. Carbon dioxide accounts for about 3% of greenhouse gases, and humans contribute about 1% of that, which means that at most human activity contributes 0.0003% of total greenhouse gases. But savaging the economies of the world to reduce that 0.0003% by a few percent will save the planet. Yeah, right. Might as well spit in the ocean and then look to see how much it’s risen.

And tne news media, naturally, immediately miss the entire point. The deliberate lies and data manipulation involved in the infameous Mann “hockey stick” have been laid bare, and now, the only thing that an be said is that it’s hotter now than it was 400 years ago. The press, naturally, ignore the fact that it’s now 400 years and not 1000 years, and all that means. What that means, for those of you not clear on it is, damned right, and very good for us, that it’s hotter than it was 400 years ago, that was in the middle of the “little ice age.” The earth is recovering from that low temperature time, so naturally it’s getting hotter.

In addition, the tree ring data that Mann used to generate his paleo-climate data don’t even show it being this hot now. The tree ring data for the past years shows significantly lower temps than we measure, so we can really have no confidence that because tree ring data says it wasn’t this hot, say, 600 or 1000 years ago that it wasn’t as hot or hotter than now.

And Mann, when other scientists and mathematicians asked for his data that he used to generate the “hockey stick” told them to bug off, he’d spent years collecting this data and working on it and all they wanted to do was pick it apart. Well DUH!!! That’s how the scientific method is supposed to work. An HONEST scientist, one not motivated by ideology and a desire to guarantee funding from like minded individuals, welcomes peer review. The way science is supposed to work is, you make a claim, present your data, and then everyone and their brother tries to pick it apart. If they succeed, you learn something, go back and try and come up with a correct theory/answer. If not, you were right. As I said, honest scientists welcome this, dishonest ideologs don’t.
