They're not. - Liberals, particulary the young ones, forever mistake New England Parochial Aloofness with hard left ideas. The two have not a thing too do with each other. They drop their little biggoted insults, and then find out the hard way that there's generally more Conservatives than anything in the crowd, and they're always surprised. - The inhabitants of the old blue blood NE core, are mostly moneyed families, that preach the good Liberal line, while they live in very sheltered enclaves, practicing the ultimate in aparthheid, while the idiots that adore them never seem to catch on. The Kennedy's are a prime example of that, but certainly they are not unique. It's an inside joke among the upper crust in the area. Cape Cod.
