Worse still are some of his recent articles about the war in Lebanon. He seems to be in a state of pure, black panic when it comes to Islamofascism in the Middle East. I don’t doubt that the odds are against the West in this struggle, but this is ridiculous. This is not the same man that – almost alone among the editors of major US newspapers – warned about the Soviet Union’s imperialistic appetites. At least de Borchgrave does not romanticize terrorism like some writers on the Left do.

I know what you mean on Graham. He’s not exactly the standout conservative many in the Carolinas had hoped he’d be.

I like most of the list above, particularly Lindsey Graham. I live in Charleston, SC and I’m ashamed to say I campaigned for him. I will not make that mistake again and I will work tirelessly to defeat him in ‘08. I’m almost prepared to say I’ll vote for a democrat before voting for Graham. It is really difficult for me to express just how much I dislike him. He is no conservative, he isn’t on the right at all. The only side Graham is on is whatever side will get him the most face time. I assure you he has his eye on the white house but he will NEVER get there. He is a snake.

2. Former Rep. “Duke” Cunningham. You lied and betrayed the public trust.

1. Arnaud de Borchgrave. Former editor-in-chief of the Washington Times, he was a strong voice against communism during the dark days of the Soviet Empire. Lately, he has become a strong voice for the jihadists. One step forward, one step backwards, Arnaud. However, left-wing hate groups still revile him for his role in fighting Soviet imperialism, so maybe he has some socially redeeming value after all.
