"7. The Republican Party of California. Has anyone screwed up worse than they have? "

Have you been to Illinois lately? Gubernatorial hopeful Judy Barr Topinka would have to be high on my list of worthless Republicans. Totally lib on all social issues.

ST-I'm sure your answers won't be surprising, but could you explain your top two picks please?

In case anyone thinks I was being too hard on Arnaud de Borchgrave (he is a legend among us old-tyme conservatives for his courage in standing up to the moonbat journalists of his time), check out this bizarre article he wrote in 2005. Note the glaring factual errors: (1) No WMDs in Iraq, (2) No Saddam - al Qaeda connection, and (3) Iraq started the recruitment drive for Islamofascists (9/11 was actually the start). To the best of my knowledge he has never corrected these.

Worse still are some of his recent articles about the war in Lebanon. He seems to be in a state of pure, black panic when it comes to Islamofascism in the Middle East. I don't doubt that the odds are against the West in this struggle, but this is ridiculous. This is not the same man that - almost alone among the editors of major US newspapers - warned about the Soviet Union's imperialistic appetites. At least de Borchgrave does not romanticize terrorism like some writers on the Left do.

Kevin, Andrew Sullivan used to sound like a classical liberal - now he's a member of his own party: the Sullivanists, one who believes that anyone who disagrees with him is a hateful "Christianist/bigot/warmonger/torture lover" etc etc.

Ron, my top two were Ann Coulter and Mike Savage - in that order.

I know what you mean on Graham. He's not exactly the standout conservative many in the Carolinas had hoped he'd be.

Any chance you'll tall us who you voted for ST?

I like most of the list above, particularly Lindsey Graham. I live in Charleston, SC and I'm ashamed to say I campaigned for him. I will not make that mistake again and I will work tirelessly to defeat him in '08. I'm almost prepared to say I'll vote for a democrat before voting for Graham. It is really difficult for me to express just how much I dislike him. He is no conservative, he isn't on the right at all. The only side Graham is on is whatever side will get him the most face time. I assure you he has his eye on the white house but he will NEVER get there. He is a snake.

I have only read a few articles by Andrew Sullivan (plus I saw hime live at the Colbert Report!) and my confusion revolves around the idea that anyone would consider him conservative. He's not as liberal as a hippie, but he's not far from the drum circle.

John Hawkins took a survey of several bloggers, asking them to choose and rank up to 12 of their "Least Favorite People On The Right." He emailed me, too, but I was too busy reading my college texts to participate in this one.

My "Bottom 10" on the Right:

10. Sen. Chuck Hagel. He is CNN's favorite Republican, which should tell you everything you need to know.

9. Sen. Lindsey Graham. New York's third senator.

8. David Duke. For years he was a thorn in the side of Republicans. Actually, scratch Duke from the list - he is Mother Sheehan's problem now.

7. The Republican Party of California. Has anyone screwed up worse than they have?

6. Ohio Gov. Robert Taft. Only a KosKid mole could pull off what he has.

5. Speaker Denny Hastert. Ditto. And what does Rep. William Jefferson have on you, anyway?

4. Bruce Bartlett. He wrote Impostor: How George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy. Bartlett may be right on Bush's domestic spending spree, but does he realize that we are at war with jihadists and that the Democratic Party is morphing into Hezbollah-lite? Get a grip, Bruce!

3. Sen. John Warner. Always being caught in bed with Ted Kennedy, and always smooth-talking his way out of it. Plus anyone who marries Elizabeth Taylor (why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?) has got to have a screw loose.

2. Former Rep. "Duke" Cunningham. You lied and betrayed the public trust.

1. Arnaud de Borchgrave. Former editor-in-chief of the Washington Times, he was a strong voice against communism during the dark days of the Soviet Empire. Lately, he has become a strong voice for the jihadists. One step forward, one step backwards, Arnaud. However, left-wing hate groups still revile him for his role in fighting Soviet imperialism, so maybe he has some socially redeeming value after all.

Specter, Chafee, Hagel, and Snowe are all on the list of least-liked people on the right????

Exactly what is considered to be the "right" in this survey - anyone a half-step to the right of Cindy Sheehan????
