I am not saying there is not place in the WoT for police work, but the last 5 years has been more effective than any other time in the 30 year fight against terrorism. Seems to me we should take what we have learned and capitalize on it, not take 2 steps backward. Thanks for the input eddie, but like so many before me, you have clearly been corrected.

Ohhh I too want to speak about the death of the cat. We are not compassionless toward the people who are caught up in the middle east. Since the cat was not firing rockets, it is deserving of some compassion in it’s death. Sis also is deserving of compassion for what has happened as she clearly did not intend for this to happen. I feel the same way for the innocent people who are caught up in this conflict. But Unlike so many on the left, I feel that those who want to commit acts of terror upon innocent people are not deserving of compassion. I feel very bad that our soldiers are the instrument for this justice, and I wish there was another way, but sadly there isn’t. The WoT is working and has been effective. It has not “made terrorists”, they were already there, this just pulled them out of hiding. I am always amazed how people who have no concept of what it is like to live under a dictatorship or under such tyrany as Hezbolah was putting the Lebanese people under, believe that they should have the ability to judge these systems of government as good, then complain to those of us who believe they are not good about compassion. I have seen too many Democrat Ads that just list what they see as wrong and at the end of hte ad, it says, Vote Democrat for Change……

But they never say what that change is.

They never say what their plan is, how they have a solution for what they see as problems…all they say is…vote for us for change.

I would rather vote for osmeone who has some sort of PLAN on dealing with things, not a gimmiky slogan…”vote for us for change.”

So, going to war against terrorists/freedom fighters/Islamofascists/(insert your own term here, as if it changed anything) is the same as exterminating “all of there relatives, all of their relative’s relatives and all of those in the vicinity of any of the aforementioned.”

The U.S. and Israel have enough force to kill millions of Muslims if they wanted to, and yet they have not. The U.S. and Israel have nuclear weapons and have not used them. Now my question is, if the reverse were true and Hezbollah had several nuclear weapons do you think they would hesitate to use them?

Please stop going under the assumption that all things are equal here, they are not. The U.S. are the good guys, whether you think so or not, or they think so or not. Also, stop thinking that Hezbollah is a political activist group. These are the same people who killed hundreds of Marines in Lebanon when the Marines where there to HELP!!!

We are not at war with a belief. The second that belief turns into launching rockets into civilian areas and killing and kidnapping soldiers then it is not a belief anymore, it is terrorism.

A technique? police work? So you want to treat terrorism as a police matter? Unless you are 100% sure that every terrorist plot will be uncovered in time to stop the slaughtering of thousands of civilians, that’s a pretty dangerous game to play. Ever hear of 9/11? Still remember it?

However, I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Since you know that all of the techniques applied so far are not working, please enlighten us on how to combat the Islamofasc..oops, I’m sorry…how to combat the bad people that want to hurt us. Is that better?

Waging war against a technique? OK. The terrorist thug Islamofacists were lobbing between 100 and 200 rockets a day at Israel. That was their technique. How do you wage war against that technique. Well first Israel made sure that supply lines (bridges) were cut off so they couldn’t get more supplies. Then they tried taking land because the rockets couldn’t go more than a certain number of miles. Also they bombed the points at which theses rockets were launched. Second guessing or Monday morning quarterbacking these efforts weren’t helpful because they continued day after day to launch these rockets and the need to work at every angle to win the war was evident. Many tactics were taken and decided on quickly. You can only plan better for the future if/when it happens again. So. No. That ISN’T police work. And when Kerry/Eddie says theses things it is apparent to many Americans that we don’t want your ideology elected to office.

LASTLY, Your attack of ST about the cat is over the top. Reading comprehension aside now, you have no tact, sense of civility or manners. It is fine to debate but it is not fine to use information that someone shares in a time of sadness against them as a weapon. And to actually think that ST thinks that she thinks nothing of the extermination of countless numbers of people (as you put it) only shows that you LOST the argument. Because ST doesn’t think that. It is simple. You are FACTUALLY incorrect with your allegation. Because you were factually incorrect means you should apologize for making the accusation..

BTW, You don’t respond to terrorists/Islamofacists by doing nothing but law enforcement (hamstrung by liberals because of their paranoia fears of civil liberties being lost – so really what law enforcement techniques would be acceptable anyway). They have a base of operations and are supported by a number of countries leaders and this War on Terror will take more than a generation precisely because of the fact that it is a huge problem. There are people all over debating (interesting reading for those who comprehend) the very issue of how huge and how do you change minds and educate people to understand that terrorizing is not an option.
