Particularly galling is his pompous but deluded belief
that HE was the reason Israel and Egypt ceased hostilities. As Dennis Prager said, he's taking credit when all he really did was provide the hotel room for Sadat and Begin. Sadat initiated those talks after a lengthy period of fighting with no progress. He realized war wasn't working and went to the Knesset and basically said, "This ain't gettin' us nowhere." Talk about ignoring historical facts!

Carter. What an ass.

benning: I am still disgusted at his decision to leave the captives to ROT, held for months w/o an actionable response, unless you refer to his ongoing love fest with the Hezzbots and just about anything anti American. Single handedly he has managed to make Clinton appear brilliant. The day Reagan is sworn in, "voila" and looking back now, is it any wonder?

"Carter: There's no doubt that this administration has made a radical and unpressured departure from the basic policies of all previous administrations..." Too which I can clearly say, no sh@t Sherlock! Hint for da Jimmas out there: Previous administrative failures ought to be instinctually altered by the next admin. Like steering anything headed in the wrong direction, corrections are de facto required, as part of making *it* around the learning curve. Talk about unpressured departure from the basic policies, Ex-Presidentially speaking, Carter has single mouthed possibly the greatest shift from policy to date. Not that it's so wrong in as much as it's a time and place issue. Your lack of integrity slip is showing Mr. Carter, sir.

"Every president down to the ages has done this in a fairly balanced way, including George Bush senior, Gerald Ford, and others including myself and Bill Clinton. This administration has not attempted at all in the last six years to negotiate or attempt to negotiate a settlement between Israel and any of its neighbors or the Palestinians." The *this" Jimma refers to in the first sentence is what -done what- accomplished what exactly, in over a quarter century? The followup unasked question here should be, have negotiations failed as brilliantly as you sir?

"...and I think most people believe that enough time has passed so that historical facts can be ignored." In answering this question regarding Germany's troop to be part of the International force in Lebanon, he doesn't tip his hand, he spills his cards onto the table. Can any sane person explain how ignorance of history, either due to times passing or some other foolish excuse, is helpful? Bueller?

"Carter: Unfortunately, after Sept. 11, there was an outburst in America of intense suffering and patriotism......" NO EXPLANATION NEEDED. If you don't think by that ignorant outburst he's a lost soul wandering around the world spewing his anti American venomous diatribe, you're not paying attention. Patriotism is being swapped out for autism.

" Everything that I've done has brought great pleasure and gratification to me and my wife." Way to go out on the limb of selflessness son! While there are better ways and examples to describe the screwed up antics of selfish self serving people, this notion of his personal gratification before anything else, including his own wife is telling. Prime examples of the self-absorbed and inconsiderate, are his circle of friends, international and local. The whole birds of a feather thing singing the same disgusting tune.

One of the things I've noticed in Jimma's communiques and conversations with other people who's constant use of inclusive terms like always, all, every, every(time/where/one and so on), is the degree of polarization of their character. Jimma's dramatis personae is of course playing the President card (as though we could forget about it) and believing in the notion of some type of special ability, that few but he can appreciate. In fairness, during rare emotional exchanges, I too have used these terms. Which in part is why I have an understanding of the ineffective, destructive practice and eventual habits from that kind of behavior. Yet another reason to maintain control of the emotional aspect of actions, either ongoing or pending.

- We probably would have been no worse off if we had a broom dressed up for president during his administration.

Our honored hostess wrote:

There's actually a third thing we can count on happening in our lifetimes: Jimmy Carter effectively siding with terrorists in the Middle East over Israel and the United States.

No, not quite. Now, if you deleted the adverb "effectively," you'd have a point! :)

Jimmuh has gone from respected Habitat For Humanity purveyor to Leftist interloper in US Foreign Policy. He ramains a fool. Were it not for the backlash over Watergate he would never have lasted past the first Democratic Primary in 1976.
