For political newbies out there, let this be a lesson about how Democrats and leftists operate. Smear, attack, not accept facts.

Point 1, SSC quote was background and not a finding. The SSC report makes it clear that there were disagreement between intelligence agencies on the factualness of the Niger claim and several other claims that have since been found to be false.

Point 2, Valerie Plame never sent her husband on the mission. You cannot find one fact or sworn testimony to support that allegation. Her role in the affair was limited to passing information and expediting a meeting. Show me where she had the authority to approve such a mission?

Point 3, Wilson never claims in his op-ed that the president or the VP saw or was briefed on his report, he states that such reporting would be standard procedure

“While I have not seen any of these reports, I have spent enough time in government to know that this is standard operating procedure.”

Point 4, Joe Wilson did not mention the forged papers in his op-ed, and he did admit that he may have misspoke as to dates and times, but it is clear that Joe was correct that the papers were forged, and the administration knew the papers were forged.

Finally, Joe Wilson never claimed to be a weapons expert. His point is that anyone with any common sense could see that all the evidence refuted the Niger uranium claim. That conclusion has been supported by the retraction of the 16-words, the refusal of Colin Powel to use the intelligence in his UN speech, the final report of the weapon inspectors, the ISG report, the SSC report and the lack of any WMD or WMD programs, so again, please indicate where JW lied in his op-ed?

It’s funny, all the stories that the media seems to exaggerate, especially when it comes to either A) Race or B) President Bush.

Those 16 words were backed up by intelligence and the chronology of post investigations have both muddied things (for Barney) and debunked Joe Wilson’s claims and the Washington post just called them “Explosive” and “false” charges.

Point being that chronology shows that Bush’s 16 words were backed up by the intelligence (not Bush’s job to provide intelligence to himself – it’s up to Intelligence agencies foreign and domestic – British intellence backed up their claims – whether you ignore that or not Barney is your own fault), subsequent investigations can only add data that make what intelligence at the time faulty or not faulty. And as I said it has only muddied things or debunked Wilson’s claimes. So, at worst subsequent investivations have only muddied what intelligence agencies thought to be true and backed up and gave to the President in 2002.

Leftists claims about those 16 words are completely FALSE.

First rule of holes is to stop digging when you are in one. Fitzgerald knew from very shortly after Novaks broadcast that Armitage was the leaker.
