Friday open thread
Been a busy morning here at the 8-5, but I’m hoping to be blogging by around lunchtime.
In the meantime, keep it tuned to two places: HotAir.com and Memeorandum, for the latest news concerning the Democrats’ threat to suspend ABC’s broadcasting license because they can’t stand the truth being broadcast about the Clinton administration’s abysmal record on fighting terror.

This is what you get with big government. Socialism, fascism, government out of control, etc.
Maybe I should change my centrism to libertarianism. We do need a big shift in government to the tune of an 80% cut in government as the libertarians want. And if Republicans don’t get the spine to stand against this facism I’ll be highly dissappointed.
If Democrats “disagree” with a point of view then they should state it. Unfortunately lately a disagreement lately turns into strongarming people to state things the way they see them.

Clearly you haven’t done your research again. There have been liberals involved in the production of this film and they at ABC are ’surprised’ yes “surprised” at the facism coming out of the Democrat leadership.

According to reviews by those who have the blame IS on the terrorists. The terrorists look evil and both administrations do not do the due diligence necessary to stop 9/11 and / or connect the dots.

A Democrat who, even now, is experiencing that wonderful feeling of being mugged by reality as he becomes the focus of the same ignorant, intolerant, lying, scheming, hate filled liberal/Democrat attention that he previously contributed to when it was pointed at the Republicans. He’s finding out just how wonderfully tolerant and peaceful and nice lib/Dems really are all because he decided to produce an accurate presentation of the faults of Bubba’s administration. The main question is, would this all be as vicious if Hillary wasn’t in the hunt for the Oval Office?

America has always been stronger when we have not only proclaimed free speech, but listened to it. Yes, in every war, there have been those who demand suppression and silencing. And although no one is being jailed today for speaking out against the war in Iraq, the spirit of intolerance for dissent has risen steadily, and the habit of labeling dissenters as unpatriotic has become the common currency of the politicians currently running our country.
Dismissing dissent is not only wrong, but dangerous when America’s leadership is unwilling to admit mistakes, unwilling to engage in honest discussion of the nation’s direction, and unwilling to hold itself accountable for the consequences of decisions made without genuine disclosure, or genuine debate.
Answer, John Kerry, speaking about Republicans. Think he’ll have as much to say about the Dems trying to spike this by threatening government censorship/action against ABC’s broadcast license? I guess he was against censorship before he was for it.

Hey Tommy can you say “Fahrenheit 9/11” Michael Moore’s so called Documentary that movie (Lies and Myths) was cheered and touted as the truth by Liberals. And if I am not mistaken “Fahfrenhype 9/11″ was released just before the 2004 elections. This ABC docudrama used the findings of the 9/11 commission plus interviews with people that were there. Even Dick Morris says the Clinton Administration’s attacks on the new ABC 9/11 movie are outrageous. He says Bill Clinton did in fact prevent the capture of Bin Laden on a number of occasions and the 9/11 Commission repot backs that up.
Isn’t this just a movie, not a documentary? Isn’t that why ABC has a disclaimer for it? So…why should people one, get all upset about it, or two, buy so heartily into it? Ohhhhh…it may go against Clinton, therefore from the bulk of this site, it must be true!
Wouldn’t you guys agree that 9/11 wasn’t just a Clinton F-up? There were at least three presidential administrations that could have done something, either directly or indirectly, and didn’t or didn’t do enough in addition to Clinton. If 9/11 is Clinton’s fault, does that make the first WTC bombing Bush I’s fault? But then, there was Reagan deciding who was a good terrorist and who was a bad terrorist. Good terrorists fought the Russians in Afghanistan. Bad terrorists were in Libya.
Dick Morris…the highly discredited opportunistic blowhard…is not exactly someone I would cite. Toe-sucking affair artist who allows his mistress to listen in on phone calls with the President of the United States isn’t exactly a beacon of light. Sure, Clinton isn’t either, but come on. Though his statements from that “news source” NewsMax was interesting. Especially the impeachment proceedings distracting him. More wasted tax dollars there.

Wow, that was a clever sentence. Of course I stand for many things. I just find it odd that anyone who pays attention to news like the bulk of people here would put much credence into what someone says because it happens to agree with what they have to say. I don’t like Al Franken anymore than I like Rush Limbaugh. Both are useless. Though, Franken was on SNL during its heyday so that’s something, I suppose.
Call me a disillusioned liberal. But instead of jumping for joy to the right because that is the only two sides of an argument to some people, I waver. I’m not always liberal, I’m not always conservative. But I am always tired of the same old crap.

As for your 12:51 post you get on a guy for something kinky yet you a few posts ago talk about how you like liberal women because they are kinky. You continue your long established pattern of attacking and asking questions with false premises and not having facts straight. It is ok to have an opinion but you aren’t stating any as ST asked, “Do you stand for anything?”
I am for the civil rights of women who are being attacked. It was a civil rights case that was being brought against Clinton. It wasn’t about his “consensual” (sexual harrassment laws say suboordinates are off limits no matter how consensual) relations with Monica, it was about perjury to avoid a pattern being established during a civil rights trial. Almost everytime you come here you bring this subject up. You seem obsessed with it yet ignore simple facts.
Let it go. What happened happened. He did what he did and Republicans did what they did. It’s all a part of history. POST 9/11 what matters is telling the story so that history doesn’t repeat itself, recognizing the Global War on Terror is a necessary war, allowing the president to have the tools necessary to wage the war on every front not just militarily, and even asking the president to do more is necessary.
If you don’t like the history there is no need to try to re-write it, censor it, not allow others to speak about it, or remove licenses from ABC. That’s facism. Are you for facism?
There are two different Tommy’s, I hope you realize. No, you don’t realize that…though, it’s fairly obvious. Your leader got it at least. The Clinton thing wasn’t about pergury and the more conservatives like to pretend it was makes me laugh. It was a witch hunt based on a BJ. Tis about it. How is that obvious? Read the questions that Kenneth Starr asks. He didn’t about the lying. If he did, the cigar wouldn’t have ever come up. He was trying to nail Clinton to a cross because he was a bad husband.
Post 9/11 is what matters. I’m just not convinced Bush and the government know what the hell they are doing. To me, they were clueless about Iraq. Any study of Iraq will show a country that has been invaded several times since the dawn of time. They aren’t going to throw flowers at our soldiers like we were liberating Holland in WWII. That doesn’t make any sense. That…was a signal to me even before the war that this administration either was flat-out lying to win over people or really had no idea what it was doing.
When have I ever said the film shouldn’t be shown? But, this isn’t history. This is a film. My problem is…people are throwing too much credence to an ABC film. The problem with films over documentaries (and no, I’m not talking about Michael Moore) is that they aren’t evenly-made or evenly-viewed. This isn’t history. That’s really my only point on the film.

Actually Tommy us on the right are only reacting to the outrageous lunacy of the left when it comes to this movie. I said this before, when this was just being advertised, I was not even thinking about watching it. Until all this hooplah started from the Clinton adminstration cronies. Hell it is the way they are handling this “movie” that makes me think it is closer to the truth than they want us to know, not a single other thing.
I also noticed how you have 2 points but are only expound upon the one that expresses an opinion toward those of us on the right. But somehow we aren’t suppose to believe you are not biased.
Also Reagan masterfully used Afghanistan to defeat the Russians. Which was one of the reasons that the Soviet Union fell. It was Clinton who allowed Afghanistan to become a safe haven for terrorists. So how you justify that comment is beyond me.

Tommy is just like most liberals ST. If they don’t have a leader to spoon feed them what to believe and what to think and what exactly to say, they become mute and confused. Do not pretend to understand things about the dynamics of this site or those who post comments here and then make WAA (Wild Ass Assumptions) over things you’re clearly not privy to, in act oblivious of. Take the time to find out the facts before you change feet. It’ll be worth the time spent and you have a better chance of being understood and known as someone capable of being logical.

Here’s a bit of wisdom from George Santayana: Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. It’s important to know the failures that led to 9/11 so that we do not repeat them. Even if sweeping the information under the rug would be better for Billy Jeff’s self-esteem.
By the way…even though this ABC piece reportedly hits both the Clinton and Bush administrations for their failure to act, have you noticed which side is screaming for censorship? Haven’t heard one administration official demand changes, or threaten to suspend ABC’s license unless they make Bush look good. Funny how the left has this big problem with the whole free speech idea.
But we covered that about days ago, didn’t we? That was when Tommy never could answer the question of why he found it an appealing idea to threaten legal action and violence against people who disagree. Seems like he still can’t.
