"...her comment was referring to "what many people felt about the tragedy of the response to Katrina." Always about the feeeeeeeeelings, forget the facts like......"tragic because so many people in New Orleans did not have the resources to help themselves," ...The resources lacking as I see it are as I've stated before here in more detail, but the short version is what's not in their DNA and what is. Evolution is and can be an ugly thing indeed, as the *dumbing down* caused devolution continues its descending spiral and condescending attitudes.

Guess what, if GW said everybody out and made it mandatory, you'd be bitchin' bout somethin' else, like the nattering hordes you've become. OH MY RIGHTS! MY RIGHTS! Notice that according to all the figures I've seen, not a single true Asian died in that melee of storm related and city gummint asshat inabilities (which is stiiiiiill carrying on). Is it because no Asians live there? Is it because they heard the words *Big storm-Three days-Leave now*? Is it because you just voted for the same whackjob that seems to have stolen all the bus keys and saved his own butt? Is it because Rove created the entire east coast weather system just to eradicate morons? Or maybe just maybe, there is some personal responsibility as lacking, as glaciers in the Sahara.

Contrast McCaskill's (Democrat) statement, "George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black."

with the following information:

Bumbling by top disaster-management officials fueled a perception of general inaction, one that was compounded by impassioned news anchors. In fact, the response to Hurricane Katrina was by far the largest--and fastest-rescue effort in U.S. history, with nearly 100,000 emergency personnel arriving on the scene within three days of the storm's landfall.

Dozens of National Guard and Coast Guard helicopters flew rescue operations that first day--some just 2 hours after Katrina hit the coast. Hoistless Army helicopters improvised rescues, carefully hovering on rooftops to pick up survivors. On the ground, "guardsmen had to chop their way through, moving trees and recreating roadways," says Jack Harrison of the National Guard. By the end of the week, 50,000 National Guard troops in the Gulf Coast region had saved 17,000 people; 4000 Coast Guard personnel saved more than 33,000.
