Weekend open thread

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on September 16, 2006 at 12:07 am

Hi all,

Today I’ll be attending the John William Pope Civitas Institute-sponsored “Grassroots Activist School” in Raleigh, NC. It’s an all day event, and I’m not sure when or if I’ll be able to utilize my laptop during the course of the day. If I can, I will, just to log on and say hello – and also release any messages in the mod queue. If I’m unable to log on, please don’t worry about a message you tried to post that you think is lost. It’s likely just stuck in moderation. I will release it when I can.

In the meantime, discuss the hot happenings in the comments section here. I’ll be back to blogging on Sunday.

    Mommy and Daddy Dearest:

A Maine couple upset that their 19-year-old daughter was pregnant tied her up, loaded her in their car and began driving to New York to force her to get an abortion, police said.

“Her parents chased her out into the yard, grabbed and tied her hands and feet together,” Salem Police Officer Sean Marino wrote in a court affidavit. “Katelyn states that her father then carried her to their car and they headed toward New Hampshire.”

Investigators said rope, duct tape, scissors and a .22-caliber rifle were found in the Kampfs’ Lexus and Nicholas Kampf had a loaded .22- caliber magazine clip in his pants pocket.
