– Actually according to a PEW poll, they project little if any effect on the close races. The ABC poll is straight partisan bunk, taken just during the past three days at the height of the scandal. PEW’s was taken over a two week period, both before and after the scandal broke. Additionally, some of the more experienced Capital hill Democratic advisors are starting to try to soft pedal the frantic words and actions of the Dhimmidorks, afraid it could all backfire from an angry electorate that doesn’t like to be treated like idiots. Nancy Pelosi should definately put a sock in it, before someone remembers how she openly suppoted Condit, post sexual charges.

– Oh and ST. Now that it’s been revealed that the underage “victim” was actually 18 when the clandistine IM’s occured, the Dem’s, in their headlong rush to mine this politically, may just have menuavered themselves into a position of “Gay bashing”. Foley’s been dispatched. If they continue on now it will be interesting to see where it all go’s, particularly who held this info until the critical moment on the eve of elections. It could all mushroom alright, but not in a way I think the Demidongs had in mind. So far they’ve been able to cover their tracks, but I think something will emerge in the coming day’s that won’t be something Pelosi wants to brag about.

At least liberals are finally exhibiting a moral compass about something. I am sure that they’d be equally outraged if Rep. Mark Foley were a Democrat.

The object lesson of Foley’s inappropriate e-mails to male pages is that when a Republican congressman is caught in a sex scandal, he immediately resigns and crawls off into a hole in abject embarrassment. Democrats get snippy.

Foley didn’t claim he was the victim of a “witch-hunt.” He didn’t whine that he was a put-upon “gay American.” He didn’t stay in Congress and haughtily rebuke his critics. He didn’t run for re-election. He certainly didn’t claim he was “saving the Constitution.” (Although his recent discovery that he has a drinking problem has a certain Democratic ring to it.)

In 1983, Democratic congressman Gerry Studds was found to have sexually propositioned House pages and actually buggered a 17-year-old male page whom he took on a trip to Portugal. The 46-year-old Studds indignantly attacked those who criticized him for what he called a “mutually voluntary, private relationship between adults.”

When the House censured Studds for his sex romp with a male page, Studds — not one to be shy about presenting his backside to a large group of men — defiantly turned his back on the House during the vote. He ran for re-election and was happily returned to office six more times by liberal Democratic voters in his Martha’s Vineyard district. (They Washington Post columnist Colman McCarthy referred to Studds’ affair with a teenage page as “a brief consenting homosexual relationship” and denounced Studds’ detractors for engaging in a “witch-hunt” against gays: “New Englreally liked his campaign slogan: “It’s the outfit, stupid.”)

and witch trials belong to the past, or so it is thought. This summer on Cape Cod, the reputation of Rep. Gerry Studds was burned at the stake by a large number of his constituents determined to torch the congressman for his private life.”

Meanwhile, Foley is hiding in a hole someplace.

No one demanded to know why the Democratic speaker of the House, Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, took one full decade to figure out that Studds was propositioning male pages.

they’ll be getting so many crank calls it’ll take em 15 years to get thru em.
I agree with Bang, it just may come out the dems have had their perverted hand in this mess, they are just as yukky as Foley and are milking this for all its worth using soros money … they have no answer to why they gave studdard 3 standing ovations in the house when he was censored and turned his back on the house during the censor, yet thats they way it goes with them, theirs get nailed and promoted, ours is taken the HELL OUTTA THERE, go figure.

Worst for the Dems/Left/Media Cabal, that is! The Blogosphere is applying its usual Due Diligence in uncovering CREW and Company. The more sunlight shown on this, the less the Media wishes to cover it.

Hastert isn’t going anywhere. Frist isn’t going anywhere. By next week, the whole “Foley Fiasco” will be a non-story.

Living just outside the Beltway in a suburb of the Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Maryland, I decided to ask ten random shoppers at the local Safeway what they thought of Congressman Foley.

7 people didn’t know who Foley was.

2 thought he was a Democrat running for an open Congressional seat.

1 was aware of Foley, but expressed doubts that it would cause him to change parties.

I think it was a RINO responsible for both the pranks and the timing of release. A RINO is more dangerous for this country than a dem I think. The latter is still open about his treachery and I like it when I can see my enemy. I say we need to protect the second amendment not just to prevent the big fat welfare thugs from hurting our families – but we may need it in future to fend off the violent dems.

Don’t panic I bet the Foley scandal will not make a dime’s worth of difference except in his district.
