The “demand” side is always a given, considering how men are hardwired by nature. Face it, without a civilizing influence, we are pigs, and often even with a civilizing influence. The liberal belief that it’s all nurture and no nature has been consistently proven wrong, but they still want to force fit it to situations regardless of contrary evidence.

Liberals make matters worse by undermining traditional values and family roles that have evolved primarily to help civilize us and control bad behavior. A boy doesn’t grow up naturally into a gentleman who respects women and their boundaries, or has a good grip on sexuality, it takes proper parenting, particularly in a culture as sex obsessed as ours. And it works best with two normal parents no matter what the alternate lifestyle crowd says. A boy learns how to properly treat a woman from his father and his mother. He needs a father that shows proper respect and caring for his mother, and a mother that shows both that she demands such respect and will not tolerate not getting it, and also who behaves in a manner worthy of respect. Children learn by example. Let’s destroy the idea of the nuclear family and then be shocked when boys turn out to be aggressive pigs and women turn out to be sluts. It shouldn’t be a suprise, and it isn’t to anyone with a brain in their head, and it is the unavoidable result of decades of liberal interference with education and societal values.

Feminists have a nasty desire to have their cake and eat it too (I’ve never understood that expression). They want to be free to live as they want, but men are required to suppress the emotions and desires provoked by their provocative fashion sense.

We are often chided for wanting to return to earlier times for their values as if we wish to bring back the negative elements of those times. But there was a time not so long ago that things like honor and character were important, if not religiously practiced. As it was the prevailing attitude, the occurence of un-planned pregnancies and STD’s etc, were less than today. Since women began to “assert” themselves, these things are far more commonplace. To stem this tide requires some reclaiming of the morality of years past.

Well, ST, haven’t you broken the liberal feminist code yet? You seem to have, so you know. A return to modesty will be railed against as a return to patriarchical values and another sigh of the domination and oppression of women by men. Everything is men’s fault. If there is a “skank” revolution, as there is now, it’s men’s and society’s fault. If there’s a modesty revolution, it’s men’s and society’s fault.

I can’t remember where I read it, a long time ago, but there was an article written about feminism where a woman was saying that she was going to refuse to take her husband’s last name in order to strike a blow against the evil patriarchal society. One of her friends, a woman with a far more level head, said “So, you’re going to fight the patriarchal society by keeing your father’s name instead?”

Things which affect supply are the affluence of women and their alternatives. Things which affect demand are the tastes of consumers for objectifying women and their relative wealth.

Well sure but there is like Dennis Prager says that it is partly due to the fact that a man does have a natural instincts to see a young pretty woman in a way in which makes the male hormones speak out. I mean it is difficult to take the natural thing completely out of the picture. Many mens instincts when they see a very lovely woman for example ST would make a man’s hormones to go into mothernature mode. Like I said there are things that we as a society can do to keep it all at bay but there again is the situation where men are always at battle within themselves because they do have to battle that, that is natural from that which we as a society have come to know as proper.

In one of my college classes last year, we got into a discussion about sexism. The professor is a self proclaimed feminist and blamed the “objectifying of women” totally on men. A guy in my class set her straight, using the same argument that you just did, (he said something like, ‘if you want to know the origins of the objectification at women, look no further than your own sad attempt at women’s liberation movement through the sexual revolution. All you hippies did was to make it ok for girls to be sluts. You said it was fine for them to walk around half naked and let it all show. Well guess what? I’m a guy, and if a girl has it all showing, I’m gonna sneak a peak. I am NOT going to respect her, but I’ll damn well look at her”). He has ever since been labelled a sexist pig.

At any rate, you are dead-on, and I thank you for using your talent to set the record straight–now if we can just get them to understand this.
