Victor Davis Hanson - one of the most brilliant columnists around - nails it:

The mea culpa that Democrats are blaming the war and not the warriors is laughable after Sens. Durbin, Kennedy, and Kerry have collectively compared American soldiers to Nazis, Pol Pot's killers, Stalinists, terrorists, and Baathists.

Hanson lays the whole Kerry problem out in 8 undeniable points. Give it a good read.

You are right about the broadcast media, but I respectfully disagree when it comes to some of the major newspapers (esp the liberal ones!

Rehashed nonsense about Abramoff actually made the front-page of the Washington Compost, NY Slimes, USA Today and (surprise) the Wall Street Journal.

But this was not only a telling story about the MSM…it was VERY telling about a certain Pompous Liberal Senator’s true colors.

In the unabridged Websters, this faux pas of Kerry’s should be featured first on the list of classic Freudian Slips.

He may very well have unintentionally said what he did, but given his history of doing this sort of thing (the “Ghengis Khan” statement, the “Troops terrorizing women and children in the dead of night” snafu…etc) I honestly believe that we have again glimpsed the man’s true feelings toward our military.

But you must admit – this elitist prig is a gift to the Republicans…one that truly keeps on giving!

The talking points have gone out, “Kerry must sleep with the fishes.” As Rush noted in his broadcast today, the media certainly must have come across this stuff in ‘04 but sat on it. I asked him the last time he said something stupid to his wife that she took the wrong way, did he apologize and try to make it up to her, or did he just say “This is what I meant, and you’re a stupid b!tch if you don’t understand that.”

I’m glad you posted that link to Sey Hersh, S.T. I just read it yesterday. What a dirtbag he is. I hope he gets to meet some of our Iraq vets face to face so he can call them the most murderous army directly to their face. Think that will happen?

How wonderful it must be to sit behind your podium all your life and pass out judgements to those who really do make a difference in the world. Hersh sounds like a bitter, old hack who can do nothing to make a difference himself, other than trashing our government. How sad…….
