Kerry Still Doesn’t Get It

See, he didn’t mean a single word in that non-apology of his. If he had, he wouldn’t have allowed this to go on his website:

Was Kerry making fun of the president, or warning students against the pitfalls awaiting the undereducated in general?

It doesn’t matter. Kerry was right either way.

Kerry wasn’t saying — regardless of the Republican spin — that our troops are stupid.

Kerry’s intended point was obvious. President Bush didn’t do his homework before he ordered the invasion. He didn’t study the intricacies of Mideast religion, culture, politics and tribalism. He wasn’t smart about it and we are stuck in Iraq.

Although there are plenty of well-educated people in our armed forces — Kerry was one of them — military service has long been an opportunity employer for those with less education and fewer skills than they need to work in the private sector. Indeed, the military sells itself as a place to garner skills and to help pay for higher education.

And wars, including this one, are often fought by those less privileged — albeit no less smart — than the sons and daughters of those who lead us into them.

Apologies? Sure, from the cut-and-run Democratic candidates who’ve cancelled appearances with Kerry.

Clueless doesn’t even begin to describe Senator Kerry here. I can deal with the op-ed that he reprinted, because we see that kind of nonsense all the time from the media. But for him to link that, of all things, to “prove” he was right? Gimme a break.

So, the official word from the left (still) is: the troops are a bunch of uneducated boobs who come from poor families and were suckered into joining the military because they had no other options.

I hope they go on the road with THAT message before Tuesday. That would be sweet. :)

**UPDATE**: Evidently, Lurch realized he’s made another mistake and pulled that op-ed piece from the front page of his site. It’s still on the site, of course, it’s just not linked like it was on the front page for all to see. The Santorum Blog has the screenshots. Isn’t the blogosphere great? =D

    1. Ed says:

An editorial, which will appear in the Army Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times, and Marine Corps Times newspapers on Monday says. “… the time has come, Mr. President, to face the hard bruising truth: Donald Rumsfeld must go.”

I know you’re having a good old time bashing Kerry but smell the coffee. This all Republican government is an abject failure, it’s time to vote the incompetent bums out and give the Democrats a chance to do better.

    2. Brian says:

      Ed,

Your assuming that the Democrats would do better. Past history shows that this is more of a joke than you realize.

    3. Dave in CO says:

Hey Ed. How many blogs are you going to post this exact same post?! Do you have an original thought?

    4. Tom TB says:

What is the Democratic plan? They haven’t articulated one where I am; kind of hard to define a party by saying what it isn’t, and not saying what it is. By the way, where’s Pelosi campaigning this weekend?

    5. Baklava says:

Tom, The Deomcrat plan is to fire Rumsfeld, “rededploy” the troops and if we get to it impeach the president. Everyone knows that the 3+ year decision to go to war in Iraq was illegal and everyone who was involved in that 14 month long “rush” to war (including the Dems who voted for it) should be removed from office.

Additionally, Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney are against the environment and so on top of being war criminals are criminals against this planet.

We should waterboard them for the rest of their lives. Wait…. I need to use some cuss words…. as most leftists do… and call names… Here we go:

Bush and his minions have brought this country so far down the f***in* toilet and all you creeps on this blog have to talk about is Kerry the war hero. Don’t you know that his service gives Kerry a pass and that nothing he says should be examined ever? Nothing. Kerry is allowed to say whatever he wants without examination. When he generalized that our troops in Iraq are terrorizing Iraqi women and children it has to be true. You have to hear it and do something about it like remove Rumsfeld.

      /end channeling of a liberal

    6. tom says:

Kerry is bumbling idiot. But that doesn’t make Ed’s post any less true.

And Dave in Co, just because he posts his thought in many blogs doesn’t make it any less of an original thought to him.

    7. “…[are] often fought by those less privileged — albeit no less smart —”

      - Translation: “We superior jackass’s are going to take care of all you underprivilaged poor suckers…We don’t mean to call you stupid, We think that, but we don’t mean to say it”

      - What a bunch of insufferable priggs. who do they think they’re kidding. damned if they didn’t do it again. The elitist snobs just can’t help themselves….They keep finding different “code” words to talk to their moonbat base in the old tried and true “this isn’t directed to the smart ones out there, you know who you are, you’re in all the Liberal college’s, and not the military”.

    8. NC Cop says:

But that doesn’t make Ed’s post any less true.

In his opinion, it doesn’t. That doesn’t make what he says a fact.

    9. tom says:

You’re right NC Cop, it is his opinion. Fortuantely this opinion is shared by a majority of our fellow citizens.

    10. Marshall Art says:

Yeah right. A majority. Ed mentions an editorial to appear in all those periodicals. Is it the same editorial? Does it mean that it is supported by those periodicals? Will it be followed by a rebuttal or counterpoint by those periodicals or any of their readers? Are the publishers of these periodicals among the small minority of military that voted against Bush? In other words, does throwing up statements like Ed’s carry any weight at all by themselves? Typical that you only get a headline from a lib and not the full story. Grain of salt, anyone?

    11. NC Cop says:

Fortuantely this opinion is shared by a majority of our fellow citizens.

That’s funny, wasn’t that the exact same thing the left was saying right before the 2004 election?

    12. forest hunter says:

NC: Spot on! It never ceases to amaze me how some commenters actually believe they speak for the majority. That presumption is indicative of what Bang just posted above in it’s entirety.

    13. - Ted Kennedrunk has made a creer out of spouting Lefturd talking points interspersed with frequent references of “me, and most American’s call on President Bush too….blah blah blah”. He’s one of the worst affenders out there. I’m pretty sure it’s physically impossible to do what “most American’s” would suggest he do, if they had the chance. :d

My parody about Kerry’s ‘radioactivity’ in the Democrat Party right now….

      Radioactive man, Radioactive man
Doing the things a Radioactive man can
Did he sign his 180? Its not important
      Radioactive man

Is he a dot, or is he a speck?
Does he constant dream of being President?
Will he continue to say it was a botched joke he meant?
      Nobody knows, Radioactive man

      Radioactive man, Radioactive man
Democrats hit him on the head with a frying pan
Lives his life as only the elitist rich can
      Radioactive man

Is he depressed or is he a mess?
      Does he feel totally worthless?
