Your sacrifice is the reason that we can sit here and discuss these things so freely, you served with honor, never ever think that it was for nothing. The people of Iraq have had their real first taste of freedom, once a country gets a taste they never go back, all of our servicemen did God’s own work over there.

The Dims are in a real pickle of their own making, there are a couple of things I want to point out:

1. They do not have a super-majority in either the house or the senate, both are still heavily divided.

2. I may be mad at Bush for some of his domestic policy’s but he’s been dead on with the war, I seriously doubt they will sway him in that area. I don’t think they are expecting a fight, but I’m sure they will get one and if they do the minute their poll numbers drop, they will drop it.

2. They stacked their own party with what could be best described as Reagan democrats, already there is nashing of teeth because their hand picked candidates are making noises about not towing the lefty party line.

3. As others have mentioned they now whether they meant to or not, are the ones people are watching and holding responsible, if they run left it will be the end of their party.

4. Michael Steel’s campaign woke up the black voters, and not only in maryland, I predict that by the next election cycle you will see more and more black voters turning to the republican party. I really think this will have a huge effect on ‘08.

5. Whatever they do in the next 2 years is simply fodder for ‘08, I don’t think they are thinking that far ahead and honestly I think this election was a political mistake for them. If they raise taxes or screw up in Iraq of if the terrorists become emboldened (and why should they not after listening to these elite morons) and do more attacks, they will be held accountable by the voters.

It would have been much cleaner to let the conservatives win this round and then blame the whole mess on them in ‘08, by then you could run even possibly Shrillery and she would have stood a chance. But now they have to stand and deliver, with a divided house and senate, and a divided party I don’t think they are going to get much done.

The one dark cloud I see is Stevens as there are rumors he might retire, and I don’t really want to live through another borking. I think there is tons of room for us to optimistic, they have two years to ‘make things better’. And then it’s time to answer to the voters…

Hang tough, folks. Our daily lives are not wholly dependent on what happens in Washington, D.C. or any state capitol. By staying engaged, we earn the right to scream bloody murder about what we believe is wrong and praise enthusiastically what we believe is right. Living the good life and fighting the good fight are still the best methods of demonstrating opposition to blithering mountebanks.

I live in a rural area, but would move out of a big city if I lived in one. If liberals have their ways, I’m afraid big cities are going to see more terrorist attacks. Many congressional Democrats are old enough to remember WW II and Vietnam first-hand, which makes them all the more culpable if the worst happens.

There’s something to smile about Beth. Our kids will maybe see a country without race preferences/discrimination.

I don’t know why. I’m not and haven’t been sad. If the House under Dem management deluges the White House in a time of war with subpoenas then I’ll probably start getting not sad but angry. Constitutional law experts on either side yet precedence is clearly in Bush’s favor on the war fighting issues…
