I’m with Dana. There is a difference between Dem leaders’s earmarks cited in the linked article and those that are ANONYMOUS. If you can’t put your name on it, or it is slipped in at the last minute, something smells.

From the USA Today article
House Republican leaders adopted a disclosure rule in September, but no earmark sponsors have been identified under the rule because it effectively exempted bills that dictate spending for 2007.

This is indefensible. They basically gave themselves one last round of pork.

Hey, if the Democrats actualy want to reduce spending, and have said that they will, I’m perfectly willing to give them a chance. And if they actually do so, I’ll give them their props.

But I wouldn’t bet an empty Mountain Dew can that I’ll actually have to do that!
