Anti-war Dem chosen for House Intelligence Committee chair

It’s shaping up to be the anti-war Dems time to shine as one more anti-war Dem has landed a chairmanship in the House:

Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas, takes over the key post next year, as his party tries to intensify oversight of the intelligence community. Critics say Republicans failed to do that, leading to faulty prewar intelligence on Iraq and other stumbles.

“When tough questions are required _ whether they relate to intelligence shortcomings before the 9/11 attacks or the war in Iraq, or to the quality of intelligence on Iran or North Korea _ he does not hesitate to ask them,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement announcing her choice of Reyes.

Not only is he an opponent of the Iraq war, but he’s also got ethics issues, as Michelle Malkin notes.

No wonder Nancy and Co. toned down their complaints on the “culture of corruption” a few months ago …

VIDEO: Protest of anti-illegal immigration Rep. Tom Tancredo turns into another Columbia U-esque debacle

First it happened at Columbia University, now it’s happened again – at MSU. Allah has the details and the video (scroll).

What the hell is going on on college campuses today that college students feel it’s “acceptable” to “protest” like this? Here’s a list of of some other far-leftists in the educational system and their nutball intolerant antics:

As a reminder, are some helpful tips for college-bound conservatives.

GOP presidential candidate: Rep. Duncan Hunter

Rep. Duncan Hunter (52nd District in CA) was interviewed this morning on our local news/talk radio station here and he sounded really, really good. Of course, talk is cheap, so I’m fishing around to find out more about him regarding his Congressional votes, etc.

Anyway, here’s his website for anyone interested in learning more about him.

To this blog’s California readers who are familiar with Rep Hunter, how about shedding some more light on him in the comments section?

Hopefully 2008 will be a year we see some refreshing candidates, and not the same ol’ ones on either side of the aisle that have so much negative baggage.
